Perfect place for a typical polish breakfast! The buffet costs 20 zl(4,5 €) per person and we can eat everything: eggs, cheese, sausage, cakes etc The place looks good and It is in the center of the Jewish district in Cracow

Not for non-smokers! This is a beautiful little place with very enjoyable exotic food and some cleverly designed smoothies and cocktails. The décor is very pleasant, and the garden courtyard is a wonderful place to sit back and enjoy yourself. … Until somebody starts smoking. Poland’s laws require smoking areas in restaurants to be separate areas with good ventilation — I’m sure that the proprietors feel that they are working in accordance with these laws by only allowing smoking in the courtyard. Unfortunately however, there are no actual walls separating the air between the inside and outside, and the courtyard is almost entirely enveloped in(very beautiful) vines and a gazebo, meaning that more smoke flows into the restaurant than out into the air. To ensure the inconvenience of the arrangement, the tables don’t have ashtrays unless a patron requests it, making it less than obvious which areas are likely to become suddenly engulfed in smoke as you enjoy your outstanding moussaka, or a spectacular kiwi+orange+basil+mint smoothie. I highly recommend the food and the locale, but nonetheless have to suggest that most people stay well away from it.

Kolanko No 6 is a nice place with an interesting interior design where indoor area and a small garden are not seperated from each other, but create one, charming space. The restaruant serves breakfasts, lunch menu that changes every day, international cuisine specialities and various types of crepes. So far I only had a chance to try these last ones(been there a few times and every time try to taste different types of them ! The great thing is that in the price you always get two crepes and it’s up to you if you want them to be of one type or with two different fillings. My favourite fillings are: carbonara, russian and spinach one. Really tasty ;)

I’m just in Krakow for a few days, and already I think I may miss Kolanko No. 6 most of all. I love this place! Sure, there may be better food elsewhere, and better service. But the atmosphere is just wonderful. I could hang out here a few hours and never mind I’m a tourist who should be seeing the sights. The music is so random and eclectic, but it just works. Annie Lennox, the Statler Brothers, Neil Diamond, and Kool and the Gang, played in a row? Oh yeah the food. It’s good!

On our never-ending quest to try as many breakfast places as possible in Krakow, it was time to head to Kolanka No. 6, after reading good things about it on Unilocal. We arrived at around 11 and decided to get a table before diving in, which turned out to be a good choice as it became very busy as we sat down — so be aware there may be not much place left. The buffet itself was very nice. It started with some grilled sausages and bacon, different kinds of(toasted) bread, scrambled and cooked eggs. Furthermore there were various other meats such as pâté and ham, there was cheese, some quiches and salads. Finally there was also a selection of ‘desserts’ such as yoghurt, fruit salad and cookies to go with the coffee. If I have to come up with one point for improvement, it would be that the coffee was not really strong enough for my taste. Lastly, it is only available until 12:00, a waitress came to tell us that breakfast was ending at 12:30. All in all it was a very balanced buffet, with plenty of choice for our vegetarian friends, both sweet and savoury things, enough to still the biggest hunger until dinner time, for only 18 zloti. Would recommend to friends.

Kolanko 6 is a cozy little restaurant in Kazimierz. Trying to find a place to eat i found few other restaurants full, guess no crisis here, and ended up in Kolanko. Just one table left in front of the door and indicated that i would prefer some different place as my book was blowing from the table, sort of :) Cold, no said the girl behind the bar, funny as i have learned Polish people do not like the cold. Looking at the menu they have a decent list of different food of which i selected the paella. Moved to a different table in the restaurant and found out there is a little place for concerts. Paella came in a little iron pan rice with, 3 slices of sausage, mini piece of fish and two shrimps that jumped on top of the rice. I would say not the best paella i ve had. So in total a 3STAR experience, liked the place, setting etc, food a bit poor. Maybe another try there next time.

This place in the heart of Kazimierz is a very nice setting. There is a small courtyard garden area, which is very pleasant to sit in on warm summer days. The inside is pretty nice too. There is a nice selection of savoury and sweet pancakes. Pancakes are served two at a time and you can choose the filling of each of those separately. Or be like me and have two the same with Mexican-style fillings. My friend had the sweet pancakes and thoroughly enjoyed them(especially the toffee-filled one). For dessert last time I was there I had the cheesecake, served warm with cherries. It looked and tasted amazing, but I think I would prefer it cold. Warm cheesecake always seems a bit strange to me. On another occasion I had ice cream coated with cream and Advocaat. Pretty darned tasty :) The breakfast buffet served until noon is really good value at 18 zloty including a cup of tea or cofffee. I haven’t tried it yet, but it’s only a matter of time.

We tried the breakfast buffet and some food«à la carte». The buffet is cheap(18PLN), there is quite nothing hot on it. The service is quite slow and the food is of a rather bad quality(including buffet and«à la carte») but for that level of price, we cannot be to demanding. The big issue is more the service: we wanted something to drink and never have been able to order it.

Second visit here and I am not as impressed. Service was very slow, first drink was finished before the soup was brought out and then had a further two drinks between soup and main course which was a salad. I was then told half way through that I had been given the wrong salad. When the bill arrived they tried to charge me for the salad they had brought rather than the one I ordered. Really not impressed and my initial impressions have been sadly mistaken.

Excellent breakfast place in Kazimierz. Kolanko offers a nice buffet breakfast for 15 zloty, add 3 zloty more if you’d like an omelette. Nice variety of dishes, many cold salads, which were terrific on a morning where the temperature was already 28 C at 9am. They also had muesli, fresh fruit, yogurt. Coffee was good, and reasonably strong. I found the prices very affordable, but I’m comparing them to other places in Europe, and even to China. Outdoor seating(not this morning) and nice music accompany the breakfast. They open at 8am too, which is nice. Many places in this ‘hood don’t open until 9 or 10. Definitely a great place to check out and to return to.

I ordered crepes with potatoes and cheese and another type(can’t remember the filling) and they were good. My eating partner got a Polish soup with sausage that was also good. He didn’t like his latte, though. It was a little bit bitter. I ordered an orange hot chocolate and wasn’t a big fan. Maybe it’s because I am used to American-style hot chocolate, which is very different from this. It was thick and almost like drinking melted chocolate – which SOUNDS great, but unfortunately it just wasn’t my bag. Maybe that’s just me. I really liked this space, though. Lots of tables make it a great place to work on your laptop. It looks like there is an outdoor garden area(it was raining when I was there.) The wifi is good. I would come back.

Another one of the places-to-be in Kazimierz. This restaurant offers delicious crepes, stuffed with typical Polish ingredients, i.e. Crepes Ruskie(potatoes and cheese) or Crepes Kapusta(cabbage and mushrooms). The prices are somewhere on the upper endPolish Standards — a fact you have to deal with if you want to enjoy your dinner in this neighborhood. They offer a delicious Grzane Piwo(Hot Beer) with three different kinds of syrup, two of them being raspberry and ginger.(If you want to know the third flavor, I’m afraid you’ll have to try it yourself!) If I’m not mistaken you can even listen to live music here every once in a while.

This place looks a lot like a French bistro, which is good as I think that was the look they were going for. They probably need to be a little less friendly if they want to make the experience more authentic though. Less cheerful too. There was a crash of things breaking in the kitchen and everyone smiled and giggled and I didn’t hear a single putain I enjoyed a Greek salad and a glass of mulled for under a fiver and went away rather impressed.

Kolanko is a cosy place located in the center of Kazimierz, rather a café or a pub, definitely not a fancy restaurant. When you get there you can have a drink or order from a huge selection of pancakes with different stuffing. You will find a place in the summer garden which is surprisingly calm and quiet for this neighborhood, probably due to the fact that it’s located in a courtyard.
