Parfois il faut céder à l’appel du resto à touristes sur la place principale. J’ai pas dit au combo chaussettes dans les sandales + bob + appareil photo sur le bide, hein! Juste le resto. La spécialité, ici, c’est la kasza [kacha]: du sarrasin super bon, qu’ils cuisinent avec différents ingrédients avant de passer l’ensemble au four. Bön, ils n’avaient presque plus rien à la carte. «Nie ma, nie ma», le gars nous répétait, on se serait cru dans un resto avant la chute du mur. Alors on a fait un choix par défaut. Bön bis, on a attendu 1h, j’ai failli bouffer la déco(la salle est charmante) puis j’ai commencé à ronger mes doigts. Mais ça valait sacrément la peine d’attendre! Version au lard et aux prunes séchées pour moi(20PLN), c’était super, gras et délicieux. Le lard a bon goût, le sarrasin est moelleux, en 2 bouchées t’as flingué tous tes efforts d’alimentation équilibrée. Et on a raclé nos assiettes. Ça vient avec une petite salade de chou blanc à l’aneth, toute fraîche et parfaite pour calmer le beurre. C’est pas donné pour ce que c’est, par contre… Tu paies la localisation!

Auf unserem Trip nach Krakau unser Lieblingsrestaurant. Obwohl direkt am Platz super Preise und eine freundliche Englisch-sprechende Bedienung. Die«Getreidegerichte» sind besonders lecker. In Deutschland sind Buchweizen Gerichte ja eher selten, somit sehr empfehlenswert. Echt interessant, wie traditionelle Gerichte und Geschmäcker kreativ mit Zutaten wie Curry und Rosinen kombiniert werden. Mit einem«Getreidegericht» gibts zu dem einen Rabatt aufs Bier. Was einfach super zum polnischen Essen passt.

The best food we had in Krakow! The place looks great, very well decorated, spacious, chilled. The service is fast and attentive and the food, oh well, the food is incredible. I didn’t think you could eat such a good kasza. Extra tip: try their beers!

Buckwheat. The food here is as exciting as it sounds. For food that’s good for you though, they manage to make it pretty tasty. Dobra Kasza Nasza is a very good option when you feel the need to detox your digestive system. The dishes here tend not to be greasy. Most of them don’t contain dairy product. And as far as I know buckwheat doesn’t contain gluten. Personally, I find kasza gryczana(unmilled buckwheat) to be a bit too hardcore. Kasza jaglana is easier on the palate. The texture is somewhere between couscous and rice. For a place with a view on the Market Square, Dobra Kasza Nasza is fairly inexpensive. Their specialty dishes are priced around 20zł. At the time of writing they have a special offer where beer is 3.5zł when you order a plate of kasza. The interior design here is quite pleasant. It’s elegant and cosy at the same time.

This restaurant specialises in oven-baked kasza(groats, buckwheat or millet in English) in its various forms. I don’t really like kasza, but I was prepared to try it again(Pod Wawelem’s kasza seemed quite nice when I sampled it). I chose ribs in pear sauce served with kasza gryczana and shredded vegetables(surówka). The ribs weren’t particularly tasty and I didn’t really enjoy the kasza, but I finished the meal anyway. Some of my fellow diners had what looked to be better options. The kasza jaglana z indykiem(millet with turkey) smelt and looked fantastic. Next time I’ll try this. The apple crumble looked very nice too, at 14 Zloty for quite a big portion served with ice cream. The meal and accompanying beer was reasonably priced and our table of a dozen or so people was comfortably seated. This place has a fantastic interior with various different sections to suit your mood. I look forward to visiting again in the future.
