I really like these sorts of combination deli/foodie store cum café. I don’t think it works as well here as at Zarbos but it’s still a nice big open space, and it’s nice to be able to browse some foodie items while waiting for your food. It’s an order at the counter/take a number type service — so not much to comment on there. Food wise there is a large selection of good looking cabinet food, and the sweet treats look amazing! I had a big breakfast which was well priced, a good size and cooked well with quality ingredients. A friend had eggs benedict which was OK — a poor hollandaise sauce apparently. The coffee was good and I even bought some dips and sauces to take away with me. To be honest I’d probably go to Mojo over Jones. But I’d definitely to to Jones over the place next door to them.

Decent spot for lunch. Good salads and coffee is ok. Plenty of seating and interior is modern. Lot of competition on Carlton Gore road but Jones is a great option.

As a big fan of the growing café scene in newmarket, I returned to a favourite of my mothers to try their breakfast menu with a couple of friends. The interior is cosy and the cabinet food looked delicious! Anywhere that serves a dairy free smoothie automatically gets in my good books and the youth definer smoothie was as delicious as it looked. I ordered the poached eggs with feta and avocado, however I was disappointed to find that one egg was poached perfectly while the other was well over done which indicates they weren’t cooked together. The bacon tasted deep fried and the many chunks of rashers together and the speed with which my meal came out makes me think it was. The girls both ordered the calamari salad and said the salad was delicious although the calamari a little oily. One niggly factor is that they did not bring out our meals all together and there was a significant wait between when my meal arrived and when the rest of the table did. This is a pet peeve of mine, as is clearing a table of 3 people whilst one person is still eating! I would come here again, the café gets the best of the morning sun and they have some gorgeous products for sale, however I would make a food choice from the cabinet next time and leave room a sweet treat!

Decent café with fast service at the counter. Cabinet food looks tasty, and we ordered from the breakfast menu: 2x eggs Benedict with bacon and two smoothies, one passionfruit and mango, and the other a lemon detox. The food was delivered fast, same time as the smoothies. The smoothies are great and full of flavor. The eggs Benedict weren’t anything special, with a dry store-bought English muffin and well poached eggs. The hollandaise all but disappeared and could hardly be tasted. And there was some un-dressed rocket sprinkled over the top.

I came here this morning for my morning coffee along with majority of other business goers in the Carlton Gore Road area. This is obviously saying something about Jones right… It’s GREAT! I do have to mention that the service I received this morning wasn’t the greatest, but I understand it’s a Monday morning so they probably needed their coffee just as much as I did. Everything here is always flawlessly presented with a large range of cabinet food, both sweet and savoury; also a hefty menu for both breakfast and lunch, along with merchandise and store made products such as their muesli. As Easter is on its way, Jones has lots of cute Easter decorations around the store at the moment, bringing some festive enjoyment to everyone. This little deli is the perfect place to come when meeting up with the girls or lads for a coffee and some morning tea. Or if you’re after a gift, they have a great selection of gourmet teas, cheese knives, hamper baskets and much more. I’m sure the ladies will be helpful enough to put a gift together for you if you ask nicely.

I am a fan of Jones the Grocer, from the first moment I walked in I really liked it and thought what a cool palace. And it grew on me more each time, from the really great coffee, to the yummy food — nice sweet treats, salads, lasagne and heaps more. I love the huge ceilings and the cool feeling of the place, its this massive kind of warehouse thats been converted into a really neat café/delhi. Apart from coffees, breakfast and lunch, they also sell all types of food you can take home and little knick-knacks for the kitchen. When I used to work in the area I often came here for a coffee or lunch, and just last week I came back with my toddler and some other friends, one with a baby and the service was very good and we received our meals and drinks quickly.

I love this Jones the Grocer, it is larger than the Customs Street one and has not just the café and a wonderful selection of imported specialty food products but a nice range of homewares. You can purchase the colourful ceramic cups and saucers that Jones use from this store. The in store merchandising is always great, in particular the tables drawing your attention to a myriad of yummy things displayed in fanciful ways. The service is good, always friendly and there is a wide range of seating available. Jones have both a good kitchen menu which is displayed on a giant blackboard behind the counter as well as a wide range of cabinet food. Just recently Jones have started offering more vegetarian and even vegan food which is good. The raw salad is revitalising. Jones is a great place to come for any reason, whether to eat or just grab a drink, it offers a really nice environment that you will go back to.

When I am on the hunt for a specialty food item this is usually where I will start. Mostly because I know that I will probably find what I am looking for here therefore zero time is wasted. They have so many imported food products from Indian pastes to preserves to specialty teas. They also have a ‘fromagerie’(cheese cabinet) a bakery a deli and a full menu serving breakfast and lunch, their filled baguettes are so yummy. If you are a looking for a gift for anyone in your family this is a great place to come, they offer so many delights for foodies, gift packs and some beauty products.
