A little café in Ponsonby serve healthy meals and drinks. A nice decorated café with small menu but lots of healthy and organic products you can buy in store. We went there about 1:30 there is not much left we can choose from as they only serve cabinet food. At the end we order salad with stuff capsicum and chicken nachos with kumara nachos and a smoothie. The 2 dishes are surprising tasty and satisfying! We love it! Smoothie was okay, however a bit price it’s $ 10 for the drink! Overall we enjoy the meal and we will be back for some healthy fix! :)

Stopped by for a Saturday arvo pick me up, now I could’ve gone to Tank and paid slightly less for a smoothie but I’ve heard amaze balls things about these guys and wanted to be on that gravy train . Friendly staff on the day I went. Waited About 10min for the smoothie, but not in any hurry so that’s cool baby, it’s cool. Went for the forever young smoothie which had: pear, banana, coconut water, kale, was very filling and I could really taste the pear . Shop has nice décor with lots of natural light . There are frozen nutrient dense meals to takeaway and their own brand of activated seeded cereals . I like that there are a few more options in life to vary your diet if you have special needs and that a lot of people are catering to your health whims . So thanks Wilder and Hunt.

Luckily Wilder and Hunt is only a short trot from my house. Not only is it a café serving delicious(guilt free) morsels but there is a wall food of health foods from CleanPaleo products, chia seeds, coconut oil, Blue Frog cereals and much much more. Love the nutty flat whites and the Organic Mechanic kombucha. Pop in when you are in Ponsonby next!

I keep forgetting this place came to Ponsonby! Tucked behind Ponsonby road on Mackelvie, Wilder + Hunt is a café/mini grocery catering to the Paleo dieters among us(ie ‘no grain, no sugar, no artificial anything’). Being a vegetarian, Paleo spots aren’t generally by go-to(most of the savory options here are meat-centric), but they have a wide selection of ‘healthy’(at least w/o refined sugar) sweet treats and smoothies/coffee(Kokako!). I was pleasantly surprised to discover that since my last visit, W+H has started making their own coconut yogurt, almond milk, nut butters and(most recently) their very own chia nut bircher muesli. Very cool. The small grocery also sells other Paleo-friendly items as well as reheatable prepared meals(again mostly meat centric). The seating area is lovely too — outdoor seating to enjoy in summer and indoor seating with loads of natural light in winter. Despite all of this, I was rather disappointed with my most recent experience here. Full disclosure, I’m a curious person and usually have questions. But that doesn’t excuse staff from being downright rude. After asking two questions: 1. price question(randomly only half of their selection is labelled?) and 2. the flavour of a cabinet item, the disgruntlement of the girl behind the counter was unbearable. I got the hint and quickly made up my mind and left. Feeling unwelcome and intimidated to ask a question doesn’t leave a good taste in your mouth(even if drinking Kokako ;)). I am hesitant to come back.

Wow, wow and wow! I took some advice from Samantha and took a visit this lunch time. Seriously it was worth every second and every dollar for that matter. Great friendly and informative staff with a very open and modern café right in the heart of Ponsonby(they have two locations btw). I had the most amazing chicken sandwich and beetroot chocolate cake! Seriously to die for. Go along and experience this place cause it’s an experience of it’s own.
