This lovely shop hidden away in a shopping mall, seems to transport you to a different world when you enter. Maybe a gateway to Middle Earth is somewhere within. Such a vast collection of Dragons, Dream Catchers, and Fairies alike have gathered here awaiting new carers. Just the place to pick up some crystals and healing oils too.

Rivendell hasn’t changed one bit over the years, and thats not a bad thing. I’ve definitely found it to be a little more on the stranger of retail stores, mainly because most of their stock is not what I usually shop for(dragons, feng shui items). In saying that, they have some great stuff to look at, especially their jewellery. I particularly love their rose quartz and agate crystal pieces; the agate comes in a few colours and they always make we want to start a huge collection of them in my room! Another piece that I love in Rivendell are their copper bracelets. A staff member explained the benefits of having one, on top of them looking pretty good on my wrist and I was sold. Even if Rivendell doesn’t seem like a place you’d visit, I’d recommend doing so anyway, you’ll be surprised at what you find! Great little bits and pieces for a good price if you take the time to look around. Huge respect to the owners who have brought together a lot of great pieces that are different yet beautiful. Even though they’re not all my taste, it’s still awesome to check out.

When I was younger, I had a collection of dragons. Not real ones, sadly. I loved everything about them. Whenever I had a birthday, everyone knew to go to Rivendell to get me a dragon. My absolute favourite place to visit in the Manukau mall, and the perfect place for geeks/new agers/spiritual people like me to hang out. Rivendell is just crammed with pretty things that I just love perusing. They stock an extensive range of high quality crystals, books & oracle cards, jewellery, oils and incense, dream-catchers and trinkets. You have to walk really carefully because pretty much everything is breakable, but it is such a peaceful beautiful shop and I simply can’t resist popping in every time I visit the mall.

It took me ages to find a decent wind chime, as they aren’t nearly as popular as they once were. After scouring $ 2 stores, gift shops and second hand places, I eventually found myself in Rivendell. The ceiling is covered in wind chimes of all different shapes, sizes and prices! I was delighted and still have the one I bought that day. Aside from that, it lives up to its magical middle earth name by having the greatest array of fantasy objects you can imagine. Dragons, fairies, crystals, skulls, wizards, witches or even the odd troll. If you care to be inspired, go visit the elves hidden in Manukau Westfield.
