This place is opposite to where I used to live and it was such a good place to go to get coffee and bread for the morning. It’s incredibly popular and with good reason, they make good coffee and they have delicious little treats for you to munch on while you wait(depending on how busy they are the coffees can take a wee while). It’s not too expensive either and it’s packed head to toe with French delicacies like cured meats, cheeses and of course breads. One not to go past is the baguette. Though that may sound pretty uninspired, it’s pretty hard to find a decent baguette outside of Europe and they certainly do a good one.

This place is French through and through, everything you’d find in a delicatessan in France from fois gras and pâté to scrummy little pastries and freshly baked bread. They do traditional french baguettes made to order which are delicious and fairly generous for the price($ 7.50). I’d try the«Rooster/Le Coq» which comes with their own smoked chicken breast and tasty aioli, avocado and rocket — YUM! The café/deli is in the Vauxhall shops just out of the centre of Devonport, close to both Narrowneck and Cheltenham beaches — a good place to stop for picnic goodies on the way to the beach. Service is friendly but slightly lax and they certainly don’t rush so don’t be in a a hurry.
