Portside Bar & Brasserie

I visited Portside for a team Christmas breakfast, and with thirty of us, we took up most of the restaurant, but this wasn’t a problem for the team here, we seemed to pretty much have the place to ourselves, and a couple of servers dedicated to us, so the service was great!
Even though we were there for breakfast, and we’d organised it a while in advance though, the food was a little slow in coming.
I can understand a bit, you have 20+ orders come in at one time, it’s going to take a whle to get them all cooked and served, but if you know you’re getting a group that big, maybe an extra hand in the kitchen was needed? I don’t know, I’m not a chef, but I couldn’t help feeling a bit rushed, especially as we had breakfast before work, meaning we all had to scoff our food and rush back to the office to get there on time.
But apart from that, a good meal in a cool location, far enough from the Viaduct to be sheltered from the crowds, but a short enough walk that it’s still an option for a meal when you’re spending the day in town.
