We also treat a wide range of common conditions such as lines and wrinkles, facial sagging, brown spots, facial veins, spider veins, rosacea, breast reduction, «liquid facelift», excessive sweating, acne scarring, mole removal and skin cancer.

Common areas for liposuction include, tummy, hips, outer thighs, ankles and calves, waist, chin and jowls, breast reduction and anywhere there are localised collections of fat.

History

Established in 1996.

Dr John Barrett formed Palm Clinic in 1996 to bring patients safer, easier ways to treat varicose veins and improve their skin, using injections instead of surgery. As one of the first doctors in New Zealand to offer treatments like Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy and Botox, Dr Barrett saw how patients loved these effective, less invasive treatments and Palm Clinic’s philosophy was born: improve people’s lives by providing non surgical treatments in a friendly, efficient way.

Palm Clinic grew as Dr Barrett attracted like-​minded people around him: caring, down-​to-​earth doctors, nurses and sonographers, committed to providing the highest quality care. Palm Clinic now stands as one of the longest established clinics of it’s kind in New Zealand and has a reputation for safe, natural results. Dr John Barrett is Medical Director of Palm Clinic and a leader in the field of phlebology (treatment of varicose and spider veins), liposuction and appearance medicine.

Dr Barrett introduced the technique of Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy (UGS) to New Zealand and has demonstrated the procedure on TV in 1998 and 2001. He was an early exponent of Endovenous Laser Ablation for varicose veins and is Chairman of the New Zealand Faculty of the Australasian College of Phlebology (Veins).

Dr Barrett has lectured at international conferences in Phlebology, Liposuction and Appearance Medicine and is involved in training of other doctors in these fields. Dr Barrett had the privilege of attending Dr Jeffrey Kleins course in California on tumescent liposuction and has also trained with the originators of liposuction, Dr Giorgio Fischer from Rome and Dr Pierre Fournier from Paris. Dr Barrett has performed liposuction on the «Ten Years Younger» TV program.
