History

Established in 2002.

Mana started as a platform for owner Tanya Bentley who wanted to showcase her unique custom designed jewellery range.

Parnell was perfect offering the quaint boutique shopping experience Tanya was looking for.

Tanya started her jewellery design back in 1993 and after several years working from home it was nice to get involved with the public again, and in Parnell we have passionate locals as well as overseas tourists bringing a diverse range of customers through who have discovered the unique shopping experience that is Mana

Meet the Business Owner

Tanya B.

Business Owner

Born in Auckland and living most of her life in New Zealand apart from a few years as a youngster living in Broome Western Australia Tanya started her jewellery career at the age of 18.

She trained at Manukau Polytechnic, as it was in those days, under the tutorial of Mary Curtis and Brian Adam. She finished with a certificate in Contemporary jewellery design and went onto set up her own business at the age of 20, for a few years she sold her jewellery throughout the country through various design stores and galleries, but now she solely sells all her creations through Mana.

Tanya loves to source ideas and materials from overseas, trying to go somewhere different every year. In 2011 she went to India, where she had the most exciting stone buying adventure ever, surrounded by between 8 –10 Muslim men all vying for her to purchase their stones was very different to how stones are bought back home.

These adventures are what she loves about her work.
