All I can say is get the damn donuts! Best donuts I’ve ever had! Better than fresh Krispy Kreme. They’re $ 5.50, but they’re massive! And they have so much filling in them, be ready for it to ooze out the other side when you take a bite. I had the Raspberry Crème Pattiserie & the Banana Caramel. Check their website for delivery times, as you’ll understand they’re clearly not made on site when you see the size of the shop! Only thing lacking is not enough variety compared to their bigger stores.

Was so SUPER excited to finally visit the CBD’s very own Little and Friday Tuckshop located at the very back of Durham Lane on Friday afternoon for a quick sugar hit to welcome the weekend. To say the least, «Tuckshop» is a bit generous when stating the size of the little food counter, it’s more like an exquisite orange brick pantry, full of freshly made sweet and savoury treats from their mothership store, with room for about one or two customers at a push(claustrophobics beware!). The size, though, has no bearing on the enormity of flavour that the food on offer possess. Featured below in the foreground was the most beautiful chocolate hazelnut cake, which tasted exactly like a Ferrero Rocher, in the best possible way. In the background is the Beetroot, Salted Caramel and Chocolate cake which was equally delicious, moist and decadent without being too heavy. Both cakes more than satisfied our sweet tooth selves, and we cannot wait to head back to try some of their savouries ASAP. Bottom line, put this on your CBD bucket list, if you ever need food on the go or a midday work treat!

Cute little shop in the CBD. The place is so tiny you can hardly fit more than two people in it and it gets hot quick. They stock salads, donuts, small cakes and a range of sandwiches. The raspberry and jam donut is always good. Best donuts you can get in Auckland really. The beef sandwich I had wasn’t quite as good as I expected. The bread to filling ratio was off for me, too much of the former. It was also covered in too much extra flour. They have a few benches for you to sit and eat your goodies outside the shop but there isn’t much of a view, so best to takeaway. This shop makes it easy to satisfy your donut craving especially if Newmarket and Takapuna are too far for you. If you haven’t tried their donuts yet, you are missing out big time.

I was very excited to hear about ‘Little & Friday’ opening just off Queen or Albert Street; perfectly located in Durham Lane behind City Life Hotel. The barista greeted me cheerfully and made my triple shot flat white painlessly & efficiently. As I was early, after 8am there was only a smidgen of goodies there including savoury & sweet brioche, cheese or date scone, donuts(not for breakfast) and a few other treats. I was very satisfied with my takeaway cheese scone & piping hot coffee. The shop is ‘bite-size’ so you could only have a couple of people waiting, without being overcrowded! They cater for all the city-slickers at lunch time, so go and get your ‘Little & Friday’ fix before they sell-out daily! Only open Monday-Friday(café hrs) & serve ‘Coffee Supreme’ blend, just saying.

When I think of food heaven, the first place that comes to mind is Little & Friday. Think doughnuts filled with crème patisserie and raspberry coulis, ‘Baci’ cakes made with hazelnuts and chocolate, plus gourmet pies and sausage rolls like you’ve never seen before. And thankfully, for those who are studying/working or playing in the CBD, you can now get your Little & Friday fix right on Durham Lane! The concept of this new store is different to their cafes in Belmont and Newmarket, in that everything is made for takeaway, just like a ‘tuckshop’. They’ve got cute and eco-friendly packaging too — delicious salads and homemade meals(like lasagne and ratatouille) are served in takeaway containers, while their doughnuts, cakes, pies, sausage rolls and brioches are served in paper bags. They do however have a table and bench seats outside for those who like to ‘eat in’ and it’s also a chance to people watch(one of the weird activities I like to do!) Today I had lunch there — it was delicious! I ordered a wild rice and edamame salad and of course, a doughnut filled with crème patisserie and raspberry coulis. Absolute foodie heaven! I am so happy that Little & Friday has opened up in the CBD. I can’t wait to re-visit again and eat my way through their menu!!!
