Kreem Cafe

Visited Kreem on a Thursday for lunch. It was super busy inside but we got served very quickly. We ordered two salads from the cabinet and a flat white and cappuccino.
My salad was a chicken coriander coleslaw. I got the small size but could still not finish it. There was just WAY too much mayonnaise on it which made it really heavy. It was my own fault for ordering a coleslaw salad, but it looked so good. The flavour on the chicken was tasty but the mayo overpowered everything.
My partner had the Caesar salad. He said it was very good, fresh ingredients. However he always misses the anchovies when they are not part of this salad.
The coffees were good quality, not bitter and just the right temperature.
I would return here again because the coffee is great and they have a cabinet full of delicious food to try.

Hmm well, I am a bit torn about this place. On my first visit I had a ‘home made’ sausage roll which was amazing. Juicy, flaky crust with a side of curry sauce. It was a perfect lunch choice; not too big, not too small. Today however was a very different experience. I ordered a Tomato, Mozzarella & Basil Pesto Calzone, specifically because I had a craving for pesto. I’ve been on a basil kick lately, even going so far as to buy a small plant, which I know will probably die within two weeks — they never last.
Anyway, my plate arrived hot and with a small side of tomato sauce. After two bites I thought ‘where’s the pesto?’ It was primarily red sauce inside, meaning tomato sauce. Surely they gave me the wrong Calzone. So I asked the kitchen staff if a mistake had been made and the gentleman said «No problem, maybe they didn’t put enough pesto in. How about I add some on the side for you?» Great! Yes please. He returned with a small ramekin filled with what looked to be a green vinaigrette. The basil was blended so fine that it was non-​existent. Not much salt and a bit of garlic. What a disappointment.
Kreem has many other options such as sandwiches, salads and pizzas. Also since it’s really the only place within walking distance to my employer, I think I will give them a third try.

Kreem Café was my beacon of shining light when I got lost today on my way to Onehunga. The bus said it went to Onehunga, just not a route I was familiar with (I rarely travel outside the inner link bus route) and next minute I was in Penrose. There isn’t much out here and I needed a bus back to civilisation.
With a lack of integration between public transport services here in Auckland, I could not use my bus card and was 20 cents short of a bus fare to anywhere but here. I turned to Kreem Café in hopes of getting cash out. The place is big and spacious and the first thing I noticed was their cool light of sticks. Lots of space and a lot of cabinet food too, in particular salads. I grabbed a diet coke and when I asked for cash out the lady said they didn’t give cash out. I told her I was lost and she said she would. So thank you lady! Awesome service.

I visited Kreem Café for lunch one day as it is near to my work. The range of cabinet food for both quality and price was one of the best I have seen. With an array of salads and dishes, this was my ideal lunchtime meal.
I ordered the chili chicken pasta and it was almost as good as it looked. For a fairly reasonably sized plastic takeaway container I was well satisfied. I would have ordered more food, however the size of my main order prevented me from needing anything extra.
Located in the industrial area of Penrose, it caters for the lunchtime crowds, but offers plenty of parking in its own carpark.
