This place has never quite managed to be my local because it’s just that little bit too far away. It’s a shame, because I think it’s probably better than my local greengrocer in everything except proximity.
The fresh produce here is fine. The range is pretty standard, the prices are low, the quality is maybe not the best I’ve ever found anywhere but certainly nothing to complain about. But what makes Green Fresh better than other locals is the extra range of products they sell — snacks, imported foods (mostly Middle Eastern /Indian from what I’ve seen), and now booze. I assume this last one is so you can reward yourself with something sinful to balance out the fresh vegetables and curry you’ve bought for dinner. In my local shops I’d have to go to three different places to get all those items, so I like that they’ve all been combined here.

I love coming here when waiting for the bus and getting some fresh fruit and these awesome corn chips they have. They are NZ made, jalapeño flavored, and they go far beyond any corn combination I have experienced before.
Green Fresh offers an alternative to going to the supermarket just for a few items, and they also sell a fair bit of other stuff then just fruit and vegetables. Sometimes they even have super cheap wine deals which can only be a good thing. I’ve never purchased any of their ready made meals, but they look halfway decent and cheap enough. Plenty of parking out the back and out the front as well

I’m not much of a fan of supermarkets, so I was pretty stoked when I found this joint: you can get pretty much everything you need for your weekly shop here without ever having to darken the door of a Pak N’ Sav. They have a small but OK range of baking goods/Middle Eastern ingredients/“Asian” items. They seem to be expanding this all the time and becoming more of a small supermarket, even now selling booze.
They of course also have fruit and vege, as implied by their name. It’s a pretty standard range without having anything wildly exotic. They also sell samosas at the counter, which are a good wee snack.

I lived across the road from here for a few years and it’s a great place to grab whatever you need at good prices. Not all the produce is the best but there’s definitely some good stuff.
Lately it’s changed things up a bit, I think because there are so many «gourmet» supermarket/deli places to compete with. So they now have wine and beer which is a bonus, and have extended their specialty products range.
There’s still a lot of Indian food and often you can grab a couple of pouch curries for just a few dollars. There’s spices, nuts, dried fruits, sauces and condiments galore. You can also get all the basics at great prices and there’s a comprehensive range of ice cream and frozen foods too.
Overall this is really handy one stop shopping and if you’re lucky, there’ll be some hot samosas left in the counter warming oven.

This place has really friendly staff, and good hours. They stock fruit and vegetables at cheap prices — for example when I went past the other day they had leeks and pumpkin for 99 cents each.
It is a good option when you can’t be bothered going to the supermarket and just need a few things. They also sell beer and wine.
Plus I’ve discovered they sell a really good brand of corn chips, called Go Nutz. They are made in Auckland and are the best for nachos /just so good even by themselves and they are gluten free, cooked in canola oil — what more could you want?!
