Freyberg Cafe & Restaurant

This café has just recently changed ownership and they are offering some ‘too good to pass up’ opening specials! They do a $ 10 steak special (sirloin) on Tuesday nights from 5:30pm and also a $ 6.50 breakfast special mid week from Tuesday — Friday before 11am (they are closed on Mondays).
This morning I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast for a total of $ 13.20! It consisted of two corn fritters chock full of veggies, served with sides of sour cream, passata and a homemade salsa garnish, which arrived in a timely manner, well presented and piping hot. The $ 6.50 menu usually includes bacon with the corn fritter option, but I opted to omit that & add on smoked salmon instead for a mere $ 3.20. Freyburg offer the Tea Drop range of teas for $ 3.50, amongst other options such as coffees, bottled juices, and beer and wine (beer on tap here). I ordered a Malabar chai tea which came out on it’s own Tea Drop branded serving tray with a side of milk.
The background music was quite overbearing even though there was only one other table occupied during my entire visit, however, the server was more than happy to turn the volume down when requested.
Will be interesting to return for the Tuesday dinner deal & see how they cope with a busier environment.
