Many of our clients are looking to buy their first home with low or gifted deposit or help from family using their home as part security.

If your Bank has said no to your top up request for a new car, holiday or funeral costs, call us, a second mortgage or refinance to a new lender may be the best solution. Low doc for the self employed is also available if you do not have current financials or hard to prove income.

History

Established in 2007.

First Rate Mortages ltd was established when the Director Kim Lyons left a large inner city broking firm as he wanted to get back to the basics of helping clients one on one rather than spending time in a CBD high rise going to endless corporate meetings. Broking is a people business and too many people think it can be done by off shore call centres and people with no experience in New Zealand as home owners or property investors.

Kim Lyons has had 23 years experience in Banking with ANZ Bank and 14 years experience in Auckland as a Mortgage Broker. His previous position, prior to the global recession, was as a founding Director of one of New Zealand’s fastest growing mortgage broker operations, New Zealand Mortgage Finance Ltd.

A family man with two grown up children, he has now moved his office home, to avoid the wasted hours in rush hour traffic. He and his wife have recently moved from Auckland’s North Shore to Orewa and have purchased a home with easy access to the motorway to get to see his clients fast! Whilst still working with all his Auckland clients he is excited about the amount of residential new builds in the Orewa /​Millwater /​Silverdale area and sees some great opportunities to help new home buyers with low deposit new builds or construction finance.
