History

Established in 1948.

Chatfield Engineering Limited was incorporated in 1948 by the late Mr. Roly Chatfield, in Devonport, Auckland.

The company started producing stern glands and bearings for the local boat building industry. Government controlled import restrictions limited the trade of marine hardware from overseas.

The company grew and relocated to Glenfield in 1962, it is now in Sunnybrae Road.

Simon Willis now manages the company. We continue to promote the long-​standing philosophy of producing high quality bronze and stainless steel marine hardware at a reasonable price.

Innovative design and manufacturing techniques help to keep Chatfield Marine at the forefront of the international marine industry.
