Brothers Beer

Brothers Beers was fantastic! We were traveling around New Zealand and wanted to get some comfort food. What is better than pizza and beer?! Well pizza, beer and the atmosphere were on point. They have an amazing selection of draft beers they make in house and an even greater selection of bottled beers.
This place and great reviews which is why we chose Brothers Beer and I am so glad we did.
We tired a cheese pizza, pepperoni with red peppers and teriyaki chicken pizza. All three were amazing and made to order. For beer I tried their IPA and it was tasty!

Brews from their in-​house Brewery and from across NZ on tap. They have about 20 taps in their laid-​back brewhouse/​tasting room. We went on a weekday afternoon, and the hip row of shops where the brewery is located was more hopping than I expected. You step into the industrial, hewn-​wood building and are immediately greeted by the smell of roasted grain. They had just had a big brew day the previous, the tap master informed us. We decided to do a sampler, which included any 6 of the taps for $ 20. They were pretty good sized poors. We tried a few sours, some IPAs, a stout. It was welcome to see such variety after being on the South Island where it was difficult to find anything more flavorful than a Pilsner. We sat outside on the nice tables they had. People beside us ordered food, so I assume they have a menu but we just stuck with beers.

First stop on arriving to auckland and extremely impressed. Fantastic beer selection and pizza was pretty damn good too. First time in New Zealand and I didn’t know what to expect from the craft beer scene but this place is totally legit. Staff are super friendly and helpful as well

One wonders what Auckland has to do to get a nightlife going when a place like Brothers can’t pack out on the regular. While the depth and breadth of their selection may be lacking compared to other craft brews places in this antipodean metropolis, the beers brewed in the giant vats on site offer something you’re unlikely to find elsewhere.
It’s got a nice casual feel to it, just don’t expect to be propping up the bar all night.

Stunning beer selection in a rustic environment. Very busy on Friday evenings. A decent tap selection of craft beer and good pizza. Iconic.

If you like liquid gluten, make sure to stop by Brothers. With a huge selection of both tap and bottled beer you might wonder «which one should I try first?». But don’t worry if you feel overwhelmed the bartender is super friendly and will help you decide. My only grief is that the music was too loud. It seemed like the DJ was really feeling his tunes but we couldn’t have a conversation without going «what? I can’t hear you!»

This is the most amicable and friendly place I have been in NZ. The food was savory and phenomenal and the beer was INCREDIBLE! The staff was by far superior to any establishment I have experienced in the north island. I highly recommend everything about this place!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Didn’t try any of the food, but it looked good. Great beer, great music, friendly staff, and a cool atmosphere. Will come back if I’m ever in Auckland again.

this is the place for good beers in auckland. loads of IPAs, lager or dark ale… Get all the choices you want. One of the best bar to go and enjoy a very good beer, way better than average… and nice friends talks… For beer lovers…

Very cool place. Great vibe! Stopped in for a beer (of course) settled into a couple of comfy chairs and had a wonderful dark beer and enjoyed a piping hot fresh out of the oven thin crust, carnivour pizza that was loaded with flavor and really really hit the spot! Really friendly staff. If we lived here we’d be here all the time.

I came here for celebrate the end of tests week. Because I got the information that this is one of the best beer bars over the world. I had the brother pale beer first and another beer later, a kinda draft beer. The beer is so tasty and staffs ll help u to choose beer, their pizza looks great as well but I cannot finish one by myself. So I think to take my friends with me next time ll be better.

Beer, beer & more beer! Brothers is an absolute haven for lovers of this yeasty thirst-​quencher. With 18 on tap and around 200 bottled options (they are an off-​licence retailer too), choosing your tipple of choice can be difficult. Luckily their staff are enthusiastic beer drinkers and happy to point you in the right direction.
With large wooden tables, Brothers is great for groups and even better in summer, with almost half the tables outside. Also, they have regular events (tap takeovers and the like…) that are well worth looking out for! Signup to their newsletter to stay in the loop.

Outstanding range of beers at reasonable prices. I’m not aware of another place like it in Auckland. An automatic 5 stars from me.

Had a great night here on Friday at the Zeffer Spring Party. I believe Zeffer did a ‘tap takeover’ that night, but there was still
plenty of beer to sample along with the delicious cider. Massive range of bottled beer from all round the world too. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable about the huge range of cider and beer — their own and brewed on site. Interesting space, not too small, plus can stand and talk around high tables outside. Didn’t have any food but saw others eating something tasty… And it’s located handily by the amazing Food Truck Garage anyway. Fantastic place for after work Friday drinks all up.

What can I say, this place is awesome! I type this from the comfort of their outdoor cozy couch :) after a long day of hiking, this was a welcome way to wind down and enjoy the warm NZ evening air. They have a number of great bottled beers available and an extensive collection of their own brews on tap. You just can’t go wrong and the ambiance seals the deal! The staff was great about helping us to find a beer to meet our needs, all happy travelers here!

Between the 4 of us, I think we sampled almost all they had to offer (thank gawd we walked here). Great all around, something for everyone. Love the vibe — sun, shade, couches, fake toy cars, outside seating — and if you want to bring in take away from somewhere else in the complex, help yourself.
Friendly and knowledgeable service as well (hope our guy makes it to Portland).

Have been going to Brother’s for several months now. Probably the best selection of both bottled beers for a specialty beer bar in Auckland. However, the selection of beer on tap is where this place really shines. The staff are friendly and provided sample tastes and are knowledgeable and passionate about the beers. From time to time they do a tap ‘take-​over’ where special brewers or styles will dominate the tap selection.
The snack food is nice and simple, but a little limited. The focus here is the beer.
Comfortable couches and tables to sit at with good light make this an awesome place for an afternoon session.

We came here the other night for a big group catch up. It was a bit hard to find, but after walking around the neighbourhood and trying to figure out exactly where Google maps was trying to point us, we found. It’s kind of in a random area of warehouses, and this bar seems to be in a garage sort of a set up, but it’s done up really nicely inside, as though it is a 1960’s bach — there’s even vintage games like Game of Life that you can play!
They have a million craft beers to choose from. So so many. You can order a sampler tray of a variety of beers to try. Their non-​beer options are not very wide, but they have a really fancy selection of gourmet creaming sodas that come with cool straws.
We ordered a pizza which was ok — the food choices are minimal, pizza or toasted sandwich, but I don’t think you come here for the food — it’s all about the beer choices.
We were at the outside table and once the bar closed up, we were all left outside — suddenly not a bunch of people drinking at a bar, but now a group of people loitering in an alley! So we left.
Great place — totally go check it out!
