Blues Cafe

My wife works in the office next door so I have met her for lunch here a few times. I have to say I am generally impressed with the whole set up — nice and spacious which is good as it often gets busy during the week. The coffee is consistently very good and my wife has at least one here a day, sometimes two if she has a lot of work on. I like their hot counter — they do roast meat which they carve in front of you and serve with rice or potatoes. This is similiar to what they call ‘Carvery’ in the pubs in Dublin — A choice of three big joints of meat and served with roast potatoes, fresh veggies and gravy to die for. You may not be aware of Blues unless you worked in the neighbourhood but it’s a friendly café that serves good food. Well worth checking out.

I come here quite often as it is right next to the building I work in. They are quite expensive, the mochas I get there are great but only when they’re made by this one guy (he knows I like extra chocolate). Said guy is also so friendly and always makes an effort to talk to you, if you have the time. Not quite sure of his name, I should really find that out.
The food is okay, sometimes they have some vegetarian items but not every day. I once walked in there and they had a GIGANTIC vege baked potato. I think that was the biggest potato I’d ever seen — it was a whopper.
Place gets quite busy during lunch as it is immensely popular with all the workers from the Milennium Centre on their lunch break.

Blues Café is on the same grounds as my office, and they have excellent, excellent coffee. I probably go to Blues every second day and because they are surrounded by heaps and heaps of different businesses, they are always busy but they know what they’re doing and you surprisingly don’t actually have to wait that long. The staff are really friendly and easy going, and there’s parking right outside if you haven’t walked from your office. Just don’t park there too long if you’re not in the shop because you’ll more than likely get towed. Anyway, none of that really matters. You go to Blues for their coffee, it’s well-​made, never burnt or bitter, nice and strong, and made exactly the way you want it.
