AS Colour

There is nothing more boring than this shop. I guess that’s kind of good. I guess. I used to work with this guy named Jordan who pretty much exclusively wore t shirts and sweaters and hoodies and stuff that he’d got from AS Colour. He’d always go on about some kind of special they had where you get some hoodies and t shirts for $ 100 or something. I mean, yeah, he always looked a lot better than I did and he was a lot more handsome than me. So I guess that is a pretty good endorsement. But then, I bought a t shirt from there one time and the friggen t shirt just didn’t fit my body right. I look fucking awful in that t shirt. I blame the cut.

This store is perfect for those wanting basic t-​shirts and tops in a huge range of colours and sizes.
This is my staple clothing shop as I prefer not to waste away my day hunting around shopping, and with AS Colour can usually find a park right outside, dip in and grab the three tee’s, two sweats deal.
I like the comfy, simple fit design and usually can just return and buy an identical shirt as a replacement, such a fashion travesty I know.
Ironically, this frequently leads to mass confusion amongst mates with several of us sporting identical items or ‘trading’ these regularly.
Regardless of having a monotonous dress sense and the occasionally same piece of clothing as your mates, AS Colour provide a consistently, and partially improved, range of clothing, perfect for the young male.

AS Colour is your one stop shop for all your basics. Famous for their plain, slouchy fit tees and longsleeves, AS Colour stocks men’s, women’s and kid’s clothing and the quality is great.
Although very reasonably priced, AS Colour also offers fantastic deals year around, like their ‘3 tees and 2 sweats for $ 110′ deal. Everywhere you look people are sporting AS Colour gear, and it suits everyone as well as being incredibly comfortable. I love their guys Shadow Pocket Tees and their Raglan Tees are instantly identifiable — just because they’re designed for guys, doesn’t mean they don’t also look great on girls though!
AS Colour is also the ideal place for designers to purchase plain tees, caps and sweaters from — they’re cheap and perfect to print, paint or sew on to. So if you’re a budding designer or have a business and tees are part of the uniform, make sure you check out the deals AS Colour can offer you!

AS Colour is also known as The Big Little T-​Shirt Store, confusingly and slightly misleadingly seeing as the range is so sparse. The title implies that I would find something like

in physical form.
Disappointingly, AS Colour specializes in basics– plain tee’s, singlets and jumpers. The staff were chatting amongst themselves and stocking shelves but really, what assistance did I need choosing between coloured or striped tops of identical design. The central counter with inlaid computer screens suits top-​of-​the-​line suit and shirt stores but falls short here.
For plain cotton T-​shirts there are other, cheaper places to shop in Auckland because basics are inherently boring.

AS Colour has been around for a long time, wholesaling basic, plain tees. It’s only relatively recently (within the last couple of years) have they really taken off in the straight to consumer retail scene.
I remember about 5 years ago going to their factory/​workroom and grabbing tees for about $ 14 a pop. They’re now a bit more expensive, but then again, they now have a proper store and a huge range of product to choose from.
AS Colour is basically the place to get your basics. It’s similar to American Apparel — plain styles in a variety of colours. Tees start at about $ 20ea, sweaters from around $ 40. There are caps, singlets, tote bags, plain basic pants and shorts (men’s only). There’s also kids stuff.
Personally I like to get the small men’s ‘paper’ and ‘organic’ tees for myself. I’ve collected a tonne of basics from AS Colour over the years and they’re all still intact and on high rotation in the wardrobe. Recommend the ‘sale’ section on their website for end of line tees at ridiculously cheap (some are $ 2) and the $ 110 deal: $ 110 for three tees and two sweaters. Bargain.

This is absolutely 100% where you should come to buy all of your wardrobe basics… tees, shorts, dresses, jumpers, singlets, hats, hoodies… everything! This place is also super cheap but their fabrics are lovely, most are 100% cotton. My boyfriend practically lives in AS Colour clothing as they have such a huge range of colour varieties, and they don’t ruin their clothing with tacky prints etc. I love their women’s plain tees, so easy to throw on and are also great for exercising in. The service here is fab, really friendly and down to earth. They also have this recurring deal of 3 tees and 2 sweats for $ 110! So cheap! And you don’t have to stick to that exactly, you can swap and change for other items in their store.
