This is the worst dinner I’ve had at a restaurant for quite some time. I arrived and was shown to my table. I ordered a sparkling water and was given a menu. It’s not extensive, so it didn’t take me long to make my selection. I had to flag down a waitress to take my order. I ordered the Prawn Cobb Salad, Mixed Vegetables and a Spinach, Mandarin and Beetroot Salad which I thought sounded lovely. The waitress said«oh, I think we’ve run out of spinach … we ran out yesterday, so I’ll have to check» and she went away. She was back with positive news about the spinach so my order was placed. When it all arrived the dishes were colourful. Unfortunately the taste didn’t match the visual impact. The mixed vegetables were ordinary, to say the least. The Spinach Mandarine and Beetroot Salad was disappointingly bland. Spinach with watery piece of Mandarine and machine-cubed Beetroot, both out of a can I’d say. The Prawn Salad was a complete confusion of things — shredded iceberg lettuce, with bacon bits(some cooked, some not), chunks of blue cheese, five cold prawns, cherry tomatoes(some sliced, some not) and a hunk of avocado, starting to go black — obviously past its best. I ate what I could, then waited and waited. Nobody took my plate or offered me any dessert — at the counter when I mentioned this, the manager said«oh, yeah … we’ve been busy». Not great, Acacia.

Located at the Novotel & Ibis Hotel, Acacia restaurant and bar serve up something different. The restaurant and bar are opened for the whole day. In the morning you can head in there for either a continental or full breakfast. The breakfast buffet has a range of juices and a range of food. During Chinese New Year you can find rice pudding and dumplings on the breakfast buffet. For dinner the buffet is opened again with an al a carte option. The staff there are the best, If you don’t know what wine to have with your food, they are more than able to help. During lunch you can head over to the bar for some bar food. I love the pizza there, nice and fresh!
