Pancakes with a nice view of the canal!
I had the bacon, mushroom, and cheese pancake. The bacon made the pancake a bit greasy for my liking but that might be more on me for ordering it. I was hoping the cheese would be crunchier but it was satisfactory and I would go back to have the view of the gracht.

This is a really cute Café along the canal in the centre of Utrecht. You have to walk down the steps to the path down alongside the actual canal, beneath the street level. I can imagine sitting outdoors in the summer time here would be beautiful.
I got the carrot cake and hot chocolate with whipped cream to warm up. As with all the hot chocolate in this country, it was pretty tasty. The whipped cream comes on the site and was delectable. The carrot cake was also quite good; a little tough but had a nice citrus glaze on it. Far better than the overly-​sweet cream cheese icing you often get. My friend had a traditional Dutch pancake and said it was very good, although I didn’t try it (not a fan, myself, I’ve found).
The seating is slightly awkward inside and the service was rather slow for being fairly empty. The waitress was very sweet though. I would come back here in the summer time to get outdoor seating and enjoy a cold drink, definitely a quaint spot on the canal with decent snack and desert food.
