NH hotels are always businesslike, comfortable, and excellent value-for-money. This one is no exception. Good restaurants, too.

When I first wrote my initial review I had just arrived at the hotel. After actually spending time here I have come to realise the nice décor and spacious rooms may have influenced by review and that my initial experienced changed after the first day. The biggest problem I have with this hotel is the fact the ‘free wifi’ is dreadful. You get between 8k — 10k download speeds. That’s less than half of what you would get if you were on a 28.8 dial up modem. If you go to open Facebook, well, don’t bother. It takes about 20 minutes and even then the pictures do not display. You can pay either 10.99 for ‘economy’ broadband, which offers ‘speeds up to 128k’ or ‘business class’ which offer ‘speeds up to 256k’. I tried both, and both were just as painful as the free service. See they have limit caps on the ‘free’ services. The economy has an upload limit of 25MEGS! So if you send a few emails or log onto Facebook and post a few pictures of your current travels, within about fifteen minutes your 24 hour 128k economy package hits the upload limit cap ans you are back to the 8k transfer speeds. The business class wifi? First they claim it is ‘up to 256k’, which is an obvious lie as I never got more than 100k with the economy or business class packages and it has a transfer limit as well, contrary to what it claims, which is easily hit within an hour of normal web surfing, sharing photos, and Facebook. I went to complain on the NH website and they had a form which asked about my computers operating system and browser — they don’t even have Windows 7 or Chrome listed which means even their website is so out of date that it doesn’t have the most popular products which have been on the market since 2007! Staying here is like taking a trip back to 1990, except even in 1990 I was able to download things faster on my own 28.8k modem at home. Get with the times NH, either update your technology services or don’t expect anyone to stay at your hotel. I wouldn’t stay here again as I am having to find other places in town now like cafes with free wifi, PROPER free wifi, to go do basic things like check email and Facebook. Well, less money I am spending in the NH anyway.
