‘s-Hertogenbosch station opened on November 1868, part of Tilburg-Nijmegen railway. This station have seen several transformations over the years. As the town was a fortress at the time, the station born with attack in mind: a wood truss construction allowed to be dismantled or damaged with minimal waste. 1896, the original station was replaced with a large brick structure designed by Eduard Cuypers. Neo-Renaissance style, with a second floor for railway employees. 1944 than, during World War II caught fire and burnt down. Never rebuilt to its former glory. 1951, new life in a more modern way, designed by Sybold van Ravesteyn. Happy to be passed in the midst of history, see next time!

Place rating: 3 Utrecht, The Netherlands
Does the job, is mostly clean, has some essential stores(food and a hema). Other than that it’s a really small station for such a major city. Then again, I’m used to Utrecht which is in the middle of the country, so pretty much every train passes there. In Den Bosch, not so much. But, it’s only a five minute walk and you’re already in the city’s centre!
