I had to travel an hour out of Amsterdam to try this local place but I was far far from disappointed!
It’s a Japanese fusion restaurant that serves bitterballen and curly fries with mayonnaise. but please consider the rest of the dishes before you roll your eyes!
Their cocktail menu is small but excellent (and although currently out of Sake) — their spirit collection is plentiful so you can just about request any drink! For the gin drinkers– Tanqueray 10 is on the shelf!!!
For starters, we had the edamame with sambal (amazing and something I’d never had before), moving on to the beef tataki (excellent and full of flavour), tuna tataki topped with finely shredded carrots (also excellent) and we finished this with curly fries, pork buns and mango rice hotpot!
I think the pork buns (small, but with perfectly delicate boa bun) — which were stuffed with a fantastic piece of pork belly could have used more greens but that was a teeny tiny thing I noticed after I had inhaled most of this delicious morsel!
All in all, I would recommend a visit! Service, ambience and food combined– not bad for Den Bosch!
