Lovely bed & breakfast located in the suburbs on the outskirts of the Amsterdam International airport. The kind inn-keeper offers a free shuttle service to and from the airport. He’s charming, outlandishly exuberant and eager to make your stay enjoyable. The cottage is a guest home located behind the home where the other rooms are located /inn-keepers live. I originally booked one of the rooms inside the home but we were given an upgrade for the cottage as if you are interested in the spa amenities such as the sauna, hot-tub or jacuzzi bath you will need to be booked for the cottage. Which leads me to this important fact about staying here — What you need to know that their website does not state is: UPCHARGES. If you are booking with the intention to use anything beyond basic amenities you will be paying extra. Breakfast is not even included. Although it’s a truly romantic experience there were too many sneaky additional charges and a few too many unusual rules(They ask that you do not bring groceries onto the property. Say what?) As they are cash only the policies should be more clear on their website otherwise if not for reading many reviews I would have showed up with far too little money or would have had to settle for no breakfast* at this bed and breakfast. *Vegetarian breakfast was hardly worth the $ 16 per person. Croissants, a hard boiled egg and jams? Not worth it at all. So ultimately, 3 stars as I’m conflicted about our stay. While our accommodations were lovely, our hosts were nice folks and there were many lovely features I can’t help but feel unsatisfied with the lack of clarity in what you are getting for your money when booking online.
