We visited this restaurant during Restaurant Week based on Susy’s recommendation that they do excellent food-wine pairings, and she was right! It is connected to the hotel and also the restaurant Keizersgracht 238, and unfortunately does not have a sign outside. But you can just walk through the door or through the restaurant on the corner. The highlight of this restaurant is that it used to be a pharmacy(hence the name Apotheek) and it still has 1800s interior décor. They specialize in serving a specific brand of sustainable wines. The food is tasty and it has a nice ambiance for a special night out. Food: 3⁄5 The food is a hit or miss. I found the oxtail soup to be salty but loved the quail! The dessert was also delicious but everything else in between was ok tasty but not memorable. The wine pairings were very good. Service: 4⁄5 You will definitely feel like VIP here. It is a very small restaurant serving less than 10 tables so you get a lot of attention. Atmosphere: 5⁄5 Like I mentioned before, this is in a former pharmacy and it has kept the old décor which is very unique. It is a great way to see the inside of an old Amsterdam building. Price: 3⁄5 We came here during Restaurant Week so it was around 30 euros per person. The wine-pairings ranged from 15 – 20 euros.
