It took me 2 years to discover this shop even though I live like 4 buildings away. Nevertheless, you can find wines and liquor for almost every occasion here. The owners are very helpful and know their wines. In the summer months, they import olive oil from Greece. In winter, they have a nice hand warmer right at the entrance to the shop. The layout is nice. It’s like walking around in a wine showroom, with every price range covered. They do a wine tasting thing a few times a year and you can sign up for their mailing list to be notified for the next one. I haven’t been to one, yet, but did see the table spread for the last one. I don’t want to miss the next one!

One of the things I miss the most about Amsterdam is the Wijnkelder! They do a tasting every weekend of 3 wines from all over the world. The shop is small but has a good selection and the wines from the tasting generally cost about 10 Euro. Sure, you can buy wijn at Albert Heijn or Gall and Gall but the experience at the Wijnkelder is much more fun!
