I found this place by the recommendation of a local business owner. I needed a good sandwich in my life as I was traveling through a few cities in Europe on holiday. Relax here and enjoy a solid sandwich prepared by pleasant people. I’ll be back. Peace…

We’ve been in Amsterdam for five weeks & Small World has the best sandwiches we’ve come across by far. No competition. Every ingredient was prepared or applied perfectly. I recommend the turkey melt.

HOTDAMN! Best sanwhiches I’ve had in Europe. No one makes a good sandwich IMO compared to the U.S. But this place rules. I wish there was one near my house in Boston. Omg I’m drooling just writing this review. The juices here are amazing too. We went back here twice in one week. That’s how good it is.

A lovely little café tucked away. Had the lamb burrito. Was really flavoursome and not too huge. Juice was made fresh. Service was über friendly.

It’s almost hard to walk past small world catering without getting a little snack. I have been in to get a snack and also by my entire dinner. There is no need to rattle off everything I have ordered there because it has all been great. I can’t recall anything I was dissatisfied with. The fresh juices are nice as well if you’re in the mood for that. The place has the feel of the deli with some premade food, yet they make full on meals for takeaway and of course the catering side of things. Just stopped in to try anything and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

What a nice cozy place in Jordaan to chill for a coffee, chat with locals and watch people bike around. Many choices of Cakes, all very appetizing. Sandwiches looks great(7,50euros). All the Food is made with love. Sit outside in the sun in the afternoon. It is very small inside. Service was authentic and funny! I would go back anytime for lunch or coffee

Yum! So glad I found this place near me. The chicken, avocado sandwich is simplicity perfected. The red onion and mayo tie it together perfectly. The salads, pies, and quiches in the display case were calling to me but my ass answered back, ‘hell no fatty’. Really friendly staff! Can’t wait to try more stuff!

4.5 if I could. The lamb burrito was a 4. My wife’s avocado bacon sammich was a solid 4 as was her pecan pie(but she is a pecan pie snob). I would give the extra .5 for the carrot cake. Not the best I have EVER had, but the best I’ve had in a long time, so I will be back.

My husband and I are looking for excuses to come back to Amsterdam just to visit Small World. We came back two times in a row — it’s that good! Both times we were there, the owner was also there and he was super friendly and conversational. It was clear that he loves what he does and takes good care of his customers.

Saurabh and Vartika turned me onto this place. I love it! the sandwiches are all super yummy! my favorite being the roasted pumpkin and ricotta on their brown bread. jeez i’m drooling just thinking about it. i still have yet to try all the other goodies there. Everyone is super friendly and happy to please all their customers. If only this gem existed closer to my neighborhood. it’s a tiny place so good luck finding a seat during the heart of lunch time. i usually like to come here when i’m having a late lunch. they cook and bake everything on site and i love watching the cooking energy that goes on back there. it’s just pure comfort with amazing smells coming out.

Small World Catering was 4 Stars from beginning to end. The service was friendly and humorous and the food was lovely. Not many places to sit, but when you do get a bench outside there is great people watching. Tucked into a small corner space, there is no room inside except for ordering. The menu consists of soups and sandwiches, with a few other yummy sounding items. My boyfriend and I shared a scalding hot soup, which once it cooled was so flavorful and filling, and a warmed sandwich we self modified. Overall it was perfect. What topped our experience off were the enthusiastic suggestions of other places to visit in Amsterdam. Great advice for bikes and parks. I truly suggest a visit to this small world.

Sometimes you find a gem without any research, and small world catering is one of these. We had cycled from Haarlem that morning and after viewing the parade felt our tummies rumble. We walked a few blocks and gravitated towards its outdoor seating. We had iced coffee brought out to us whilst waiting for vegetarian lasagne, which had just exited the oven and was recommended by the nice guy manning the counter, it was lovely and the chicken parmigiana, also a tasty dish. Our visit there also had us conversing with a Spanish family enjoying their coffees, we will be back, yum

Luuuhhhhvvveee this place. Its the coziest little thing in town and I love it. The café is small — I mean S.M.A.L.L. you may not find place to sit during lunch times but if the weather is good you can sit outside or if the people are kind and friendly,(Which they mostly are) at this place — you can share their table. The food is lovely and delicious — I have had the Tuna Melt, the chicken pesto and i dono how many different sandwiches and quiches from here and I love em all. The chai is good and my friend always raves about their fresh juices and shakes.

I love Small World but I do have to say the quality of the sandwiches have diminished in recent months while the prices has gone up and the overall size of the sandwiches have shrunk too. However their Lamb Burrito and Apple, Lime, Ginger(Ali G) juice are both amazing! This small local is still one of the best places in Amsterdam.

Awesome lunch food. It’s not easy to find a comforting, biteful food in Amsterdam. I’m super happy for finding this place. It’s close on Monday. Watch out.

I absolutely love this place! The café is tiny but makes it even more special. They are known for massive sandwiches with the most fresh and delicious homemade fillings like tuna salad, antipasto, hummus. def try the fish cake s/w with wasabi mayo and avacado! The goats cheese and pumpkin quieche is one of my favorite! I also appreciate their coffees and fresh juices. Put this way — after a long night out Small World is the best of the best places to be the next morning!

Great little place tucked away off Haarlemmerstraat with excellent sandwiches, juices and cookies. A little pricey, even for the excellent quality they offer.

With a name like that, you’d expect that only expats(foreigners) would visit this place. But no, the locals love it, too! Shawn is, hands down, the friendliest business owner I have ever known. He knows how to treat customers like friends, what with remembering even their names and what they are generally up to. In a country like the Netherlands, where being nice to strangers is unheard of, Small World Catering is a blessing right in the neighborhood. I feel like I have, not one, but a few, good friends here. While the sandwiches are Small World’s claim to fame, you can’t go wrong with the awesome salads on display. I am a fan of the couscous salad as well as the egg pie thing. Delicious! There’s a very good herbal tea on the menu as well, along with the signature juices. If you ask for my favorite, go with the pesto melt — out of this world! I am a regular Saturday morning customer(sometimes Sundays), if you want to run into me sometime! Once you’re done with food, check out the famous carrot cake or the cheesecake. I bet you’d get addicted to this good stuff. The cookies are also great! I don’t think I have ever had a bad experience at Small World, it’s that awesome. The downside of giving a positive review to this place is that now it will be all the more crowded, but I could live with that. What are you waiting for? Don’t you want a good sandwich right now?! PS: And you don’t even have to pay for water… unlike all the crap restaurants!

It’s awesome to see Unilocal is now in the Netherlands! After spending a couple months of trying to translate the Dutch on , Unilocal is a welcome change. It’s only fitting for my first Netherlands review to be Small World — right around the corner from my company-rented apartment, Small World was a staple for me! Great sandwiches plus a choice of about 8 hot foods and fresh salads keep me well fed while working late! The lemon tart is to die for — just the right mix of tart and sweet with a flaky crust. The pecan pie a deep dish pie but a little sweet for my taste. If you find yourself in the Jordaan, definitely pay a visit to Small World, you’ll be glad you did!
