Rembrandt Bar

On our daily trips to the main city from the hotel we always stopped off, for a coffee, at this delightful café. Pleasant surroundings with a good view to ‘people watch’. I had been here before, during the Spring, and it hadn’t changed. Good service and really good coffee. Unfortunately, on the last day, we were asked to pay for our drinks as they arrived in a rather abrupt manner. As I have said, we drank there on three earlier mornings, sitting outside, and were never asked to pay immediately. Previously we had always asked for ‘de rekening’ (the bill) or, if we couldn’t get attention, go inside and pay. The last day made me feel like a felon.
However, on the last day, we were serenaded with an accordion by a really nice Italian guy. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any loose change when he came around the tables. After paying, I had change and noticed that he was sitting on a bench in the plein. I made sure I walked over and gave him a good tip. He was so happy that I had bothered.

So lets get straight to it.
Super touristy, full of smoke as it doesn’t have a separate smoking lounge, average drinks and lousy crowd and lousy music.
So, me thinks not.
