Really great event. The staff were all really friendly and assisted me even though I was terribly late! Be warned the you can’t get from the south across the bridge to where the pop up is because the bridge is split to let the ships by. An excellent spot to watch the ships and check out what is going on in the water. Oysters were fresh and delicious with various different types which were expertly explained. Gin and tonics too! Need I say more

I attended the SAILIN event at this restaurant which included drinks and oysters. It was quite disorganized as we showed the mobile ticket sent to use for purchasing the 30 euro package and it could not be scanned because it was from the ticket supplier that sold the ticket… not sure how that works. Either way, we were able to go inside and enjoy the view. This pop-up restaurant was on part of a bridge the was partially dismantled to allow tall ships to pass through. We were given the view from the north-side, facing west while the ships sailed toward us. The edge of the bridge that the ships actually pass directly by was taken by the television station which was disappointing, but not surprising. Staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. My friend and I are learning Dutch, and once the bartender noticed that, he only spoke to us in Dutch. Though there was just enough room to where it wasn’t awfully crowded, there were not enough tall tables to accommodate the crowd. Champagne was good, and so was the view, hence the 4 stars.

Great idea to watch the SAILAMSTERDAM This is one cool place to be when the Ij was flooded with so many cool boats and tall ships. I was there for the moment when the boats arrived, one by one, at the SAILIN, thanks to another great Unilocal event for Unilocal elites. Besides being an Unilocal elite you could also attend the event by buying a ticket with drinks included. I like their deck, and I was going back and forth on the both sides of the restaurant/bridge so I can have a close up on the tallships that were passing by us. The service was decent, considering they were receiving so many orders. I enjoyed having a cool drink in my hand, speaking with people and admiring boats coming up. I saw you could also eat in the restaurant, I haven’t done that but it looked classy. So I would recommend to treat yourself with the special view over the Ij, as Sail Amsterdam happens only once in 5 years and a champagne glass so we have it classy all the way. Especially with the sun going down.
