Moti Mahal

One evening I couldn’t decide where to eat and I came across Moti Mahal, which was right near the hotel I was staying at near Centraal station. After a short 5 minute wait for the staff to clear a table, I was seated at a table in the front of the restaurant overlooking the street. Even though we were only two females dining, we did not feel like we were looked down or nor ignored throughout the meal.
We had a difficult time deciding on what to order because everything sounded delicious. In the end we both ordered the same meal which turned out to be similar to a 3 course dinner that included a soup, a couple small entrees, and dessert. The selection of a couple entrees provided us with a variety of flavors and textures. By the end of the meal we were both very full and could barely finish everything. The meal for 2 people came out to less than 40 euros.
The food was delivered promptly throughout the meal and when we needed anything a member of the waitstaff stopped by. We were not rushed either during the meal. Overall I found the restaurant, food, and service to be fantastic.

Do not go here if you are non white and if you have less appetite
I went here for dinner with my husband and as my husband was stoned he wasn’t hungry and we just ordered a curry and few breads
My husband couldn’t even finish that and we asked the owner to box it for us
He gave us such obnoxious looks and then while getting the check did not even offer us the after mints as if we are second class citizens and wasted his time by eating so less
While all the others were going out he waved them thank you’s but he did not think of doing that with us as we ordered so less I guess
I feel totally disgusted with the way he looked down upon us.
I am from United States and do not know the level of customer service they offer here in NL but I can say for sure this is not something any paying customer would want
By the way food is very oily and exorbitantly priced
Definitely not worth going

Food was amazing — we couldn’t stop eating the naan bread (we got the 4-​bread basket). Hubby got the chicken tikka masala and I got the vegetable curry. Both were just wonderful!
