Who doesn’t love French fries? Ordered a small and it was still a hefty portioned cone! Then again, they do cost just under € 4. I ordered spicy mayo and the pineapple curry. Nice combination of sweet and spicy. Love that it’s so convenient to take on the go. Sad that I decided to throw away the whole bottom of my cone bc by that point, everything was sloshed in the sauces and I prefer to eat fries where I can control the amount of sauce… Ha. At least that’s what I tell myself to feel better about eating these!

Simple and plain, I was walking down the street during a day of drinking and strolling and saw a few people walking by with a large purple cone wrapper full of fries with various things atop and I said that I need to have one. I followed the purple cones until I saw a purple sign and upon first taste, I was not disappointed. The spot is a walkup window with multiple long lines but the lines move quickly. I feel that there were a small handful of other things on the menu but I had tunnel vision. I order a large fry with cheese. I don’t know what type of cheese sauce it was but it was pretty good atop the fries. The fries themselves are nearly perfect. They’re crispy and thick and full of flavor. It’s pretty simple but it’s great.

i haphazardly barely rem coming here in 2008 during an euro trip, after a couple too many hours in a coffee shop, this was jackpot city then. and now in 2015 I was able to relive the deliciousness THC free(well before the fries, after well not so much) S M L and a plethora of sauces to choose from. wooden forks if you desire vs your dirty dirty hands. plenty fair with pricing and sizes. I recommend, drunk, high, sober what ever your vice of choice is, enjoy some pomme frites via manneken pis(which lil statue peepee man is en Bruxelles)

Basic steak fries with variety of sauces. There was a line but fairly quick. Just the right amount of salt if you want to skip the sauce, but thats why you are there. Black truffle sauce is the bomb.

Depending on whom you ask, Amsterdam is known for quite a few things; namely weed and prostitutes shoot up to the top of that list among several things. I’m not a smoker of any type, and I’m not(at least i think) interested in prostitutes, so the big two things that people stereotypically boast about coming to Amsterdam for, don’t really apply to me. But food? I’ll eat everything in sight, and run a country into famine if I could. From what I could surmise, among the things that I should keep my eyes peeled for were bitterballen, Dutch pancakes and well, frites, or basically french fries. But french fries are delicious, so I kept an open mind about seeking out something so ordinary. It’s hard to not be intrigued by a place named after a peeing statue in Brussels that serves french fries in Amsterdam, but my girlfriend and I were quite hungry, so without much hesitation, we came to the place that boasted the best frites in Holland. It’s window service only, but the line moves fast. If there’s anything at all that separates Mannekin Pis from any old American french fry merchant, it’s the abundant variety of sauces to put on them, other than plain old ketchup. On this European vacation, I discovered Andalouse sauce, and I found myself putting it on everything I could, including the gigantic cone of fries I got from Mannekin Pis. And it’s dirt cheap; at least compared to some of the food bills I’d been running up all throughout Europe over the last few days. 4 Euros for a huge cone full of fries seemed like an absolute steal, compared to paying 200 for dinner at the Eiffel Tower or something, and I was about as sated afterward. The point is, Mannekin Pis is awesome. It’s in a very central location in Amsterdam, near the city’s center, also near Grand central station, and multiple rail/bus lines. Fries, I mean frites, are pretty much good at any time, and frankly given a choice, who wouldn’t want to go to the place named after a naked little peeing cherub statue?

Fries are junk food they said. Fries should be avoided they said. They clearly haven’t had heavenly fries from one of Amsterdam’s finest and busiest fries shop. Many times I have walked past it trying hard not to look at the fresh fries sizzling out of the fryer. Many times I have succumbed to getting just a small portion. It’s the oil that maketh good fries, and they use good oil. I like to say that it’s peanut oil but I am not sure. Anyway, the fries are spectacular. They have a bunch of sauces and toppings as well. I love the peanut sauce. I used to like curry sauce but lately I dig ketchup more. Oh, and you can’t go wrong with onions on top of your fries. Especially tasty with the peanut sauce. Portion is good, although you could even make a meal out of fries if you get the large cone! In any case, never let anyone tell you that fries aren’t healthy. They are just jealous that they don’t get good fries where they love.

What’s with the hype of this place? Tried the standard fries with original sauce and it was okay. I mean, the fries were fried correctly, but definitely nothing special. Thought there was going to be a party in my mouth, but no one was coming. :-P. Maybe the truffle mayo would have fared better. Skip this place, it’s a tourist trap with long lines. Other than that, this place really didn’t do anything wrong… it just had great advertising. 3 stars.

This fries are great. Above average and if you get black truffle mayo — wow awesome. Didn’t get to try other sauces. Got the special sauce they got which costed 1.95 euros extra but worth every penny.

Amazing french fries, amazing sauce. If you’re not a big fan, the small size is already too big. Only ask for the medium or the large one if you’re a true addict. Very fair price. It’s a place you must know in Europe!

My go-to fries place. The frites are delicious and the portions are huge. I usually share a small with a friend. There are tons of sauce choices, with my favorite being curry ketchup. There’s often a line but it’s definitely worth the short wait.

’twas okay. I ordered a small and it felt like a medium or a large that I would get in the States. Not that I’m complaining but they put a lot of fries and only a dollop of sauce so the fries to sauce ratio is not ideal. I would suspect that if you got your fries with more than one sauce, it’d be enough but I only went with one and there wasn’t enough to go around. The fries are large like steak fries so if you’re into that then you’re good! I ordered the fries with wietsaus which I thought meant«white sauce» in Dutch but it doesn’t mean«white sauce» in Dutch… anyway, I googled it and there’s no THC and to be honest, it tasted like tartar sauce. Price was good, service was quick.

Was walking for the first time in Amsterdam’s Centraal Station and saw a long line at this establishment. No, they are not french fries but Belgian frites. And you need to get it with the mayonnaise-based sauce(for a 25 cents more or so). They were a lot of them for the price and it is very tasty. It’s kind of like the Zesty sauce you get at Burger King franchises. It was 5.95 w/o the sauce and was a larger size. Either way, it’s a good takeaway walking around Centraal and a must have before leaving Amsterdam.

When in Amsterdam… you must eat fries! I couldn’t leave without having a big cone of oily fries… but they actually weren’t oily at all. Fries: Crispy, thick, warm and fresh. Nothing like what I was expecting. I didn’t have high expectations at all, but there were a lot better than what I expected. They have a wide variety of sauces to choose from. I had the spicy mayo sauce, it was a little salty and the level of spice was perfect, but I have a high tolerance for heat and I typically add hot sauce or salsa to most of my food. Overall, I enjoyed the fries, but would skip the sauce next time. The fries are delicious on their own, no need to douse them in anything. Eating them was a bit messy, so I recommend you grab a fork at the window. I like that they’re in a cone because they’re easy to hold and munch on while walking the streets of beautiful Amsterdam.

Don’t come here with inflated expectations cause this place is nothing more than good solid fries — but not ones that I’d say was a highlight of my stay in Amsterdam. If you’re from NYC, you may be familiar with Pomme Frites. This place reminded me of that. the fries are pretty similar. Thank god this place isn’t as hyped up as Pomme Frites is though. HUGEEEE portions. Don’t try eating one by yourself. If you eat too fast, you’ll probably burn your mouth.

You can’t leave Amsterdam without having the quintessential cone of frites. Even better if it’s with fritesauce, a tangy mayonnaise-based sauce that’s a Dutch favourite with fries. And even better after a couple beers(but what isn’t, really?). Manneken Pis is a popular choice, right smack in the middle of tourist-centric Damrak street. There’s often a queue, but it moves fast, and the fries here are really good… nice crispy thick-cut with soft fluffy centres. The portion sizes are meant for sharing. We got a medium cone between the two of us and, on empty stomachs, still couldn’t finish it. So go on — this is one«touristy» thing that’s worth doing.

Freshly fried french fries? Yes please! Known to have the best fries in Amsterdam, I came here twice! Obsessed with joppiesaus! Tastes like curried honey mustard sauce with little bits of onions. Both times, asked for less sauce as it can get overwhelming. Really good, but got jipped the one time I bought it, she charged me extra.

Riesige Auswahl an Saucen !

When I came to Amsterdam first thing that popped in my mind was«I have to try some fries» So on our way to our fun night out we passed by this little place and stood in line, but it was pretty quick. We both ordered medium fries and some sauce — my friends had cheese sauce and I had spicy mayo. First it was too hot to eat, but when I could — it was delish! Every bite was better than the other. Couldn’t think of a better thing than grabbing some fries in a cone and walk around the streets of Amsterdam. Not sure if it’s Amsterdam no.1 but it was surely tasty! No doubt I’m coming over and trying some different sauce options next time.

Gute/leckere Pommes, Portionsgrößen sind gut, Medium war mehr als genug. Wenn man in der Nähe von Amsterdam Centraal ist und schnell etwas Energie braucht kann man hier ohne Bedenken zugreifen.

I had no idea that fries were a thing in Amsterdam, but I’m glad they are. ‘Cause I love fries, who doesn’t? There are spots all over town to grab a cone of fries but if you come by this place, it’s well worth a try. Also, a small is not that ‘small’ and can definitely be shared between two people or for one hungry person. Actually, if you’re two people sharing – go ahead and get a medium since you’ll like the fries so much that you WILL want more. Anyway, my point is that the servings are pretty large so choose wisely. I liked that the fries were thick cut and tasted fresh! No weird freezer burn after taste. They also have a long list of sauces that you can get with your fries. I suggest asking for your sauce on the side instead of over your fries… you get more sauce that way. If you like some heat, the samurai sauce is a good choice – creamy but with a nice kick of spice.

Frites for the win! Food rule number 138, if there is a long line of people waiting for food, you wait on it too!!! lol So I was walking along the busy strip of Damrak which was filled to capacity with shops, it is also located across from a train. While walking, I see a herd of people occupying space in front of this place and I see this sign and I was sold. The food: Frites– I thought the frites were solid. I was expecting the frites to be a little thinner, they kinda felt like crispy steak fries. The fries are double fried and are soft and pillowy on the inside and crisp on the outside. The frites are served with mayo(Euros love their mayo) and it was a nice addition to the frites, but these suckers felt heavy.
