Krua Buppha Thais

This Thai place is only a few minutes walking distance from my home so I pass by this place daily and always tell myself I have to eat here soon! Johannes van Dam (rip!) rated this place a –9, which is really good, so I was always very curious about the food here. A few days ago I finally went and the place did not disappoint. We had fish cookies to share as a starter and they were really nice. My main, I forgot the name, was a curry with beef, peanuts, potato, mushrooms and coconut milk. It was so good! I got quite a lot of food but I ate it all! Most food comes with plain white rice, but you can order noodles or baked rice instead, though this will cost you 4 euros extra, which I quite a lot I think! For dessert we shared a dish; a banana roll with ice cream, chocolate sauce and cream. Nothing special and a bit disappointing. You can see that there is not much effort put into the dessert in this restaurant. The starter and main were very good though so I was very happy with my dinner. The white wine and the Thai beers were also nice!
Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful, though not always paying enough attention because our glasses were often empty and we had to call them for more drinks. I would give 3,5 stars if I could but since that is not possible I’ll give this place 3 stars. I’m not really a fan, though I must say I really LOVED my main.
