Deksels! Lekkere Dingen

I finally found a tasty and creative sandwich!
I had the fried rosario chorizo, fried egg, dried tomatoes, eggplant and capers concoction and it was just great.
I’m coming back to try the «Club Deksels», pancetta, fried egg, smoked turkey and tomato and also the «Frisco Sandwich» which is a fried chicken leg and mango chutney.
Lekker.

I had a piece of raspberry cheesecake. Along with that I had a gin and tonic. I sat outside at one of the three or so tables until the sunny area became shade. The cheesecake and the drink were both yummy. The service was friendly. Inside there is cool jazz playing adding to the ambiance of the restaurants’ interior. It was quite comfortable and cozy. The menu looked interesting for dinner. I’ll have to go back and check it out.

Deksels is remarkable. Their menu is inventive without being too try-​hard or overly hip and everything served was delicious. I had trouble deciding between the many inspired dishes but ended up going with the carpaccio with truffled vinaigrette and aged cheese and the chorizo, sun-​dried tomato, aubergine and caper pasta. The carpaccio was yummy and the salad with roasted vegetables that a friend ordered for a starter looked spectacular. For mains, I was really blown away by my pasta. It was hearty, tangy, spicy goodness mixed into a bed of perfectly al dente bucatini. The 1. whole oven-​roasted dorade (bream fish) with herbed red potatoes, fava bean purée and grilled fennel and 2. smoked mackerel– soft goat cheese — spring onion pasta also looked foodporn photoshoot ready. I couldn’t eat any more when the dessert menu came around, but nibbles I had of the profiteroles and the gâteau marcel were delish.

Yummie sandwiches, great service and cozy/​hip interior.
