Oh how I miss this place already! I had the pleasure of visiting Amsterdam for a week and staying in an airbnb right down the street from this wonderful restaurant. My husband and I had plenty of lunches here. Their lunch menu is extremely reasonable. I had the tuna melt sandwich, which I believe was about 4 euros, so affordable! Another day I had their ham and cheese which was 3.50 euros, again very tasty and super affordable. They also have much more pricier food items, but we were on a budget so this worked out well. The food itself was extremely fresh and tasty. I highly recommend their mango orange juice! So fresh and perfectly refreshing. The location itself is perfect! Located on a very lively, energetic street with many other food options. It is a great place to people watch and enjoy your lunch or drink outside on a beautiful day. The service was great for European standards. Our waiter remembered us every day, which was a nice little touch to the experience. Overall if you are in the area highly recommend checking this place out!

Not a large variety in the menu but good quality and nice presentation. We had capacious as a starter ans as main dis and both were excellent. Good service with smile and care by our young blond waitress. Nice atmosphere. We do recommend this nice restaurant 3 Canadians visiting Amsterdam

This place was our go to in Amsterdam. I found that most places we visited there had great food but this place brought us back many times in our short stay. Sat on the patio and people watched. Staff was great, drinks were strong, & food was amazing! We tried half the menu in three visits and left wanting more every time. As a restaurant owner in the states I have to say I was very impressed with this place. Great location as well.

Walked in here a bit randomly after dinner at a nearby place fell through. We had beef carpaccio, osso bucco, chicken satay and 3 glasses of wine for less than 60 €. The food was all great, the service was friendly, and we enjoyed ourselves quite a lot. Recommended.

I always take people here who like to eat ‘somewhere nice’ but not pretentious. Everyone I would consider a «grown-up»(and even those that don’t) tends to find something that they like here. The food is fresh, delicious, and just the right amount of interesting(without being over-the-top ‘inventive’). I’ve had both full meals here and dinners made up of only appetizers. The staff is funny, friendly, and speak amazing English. And they’ve got a great wine and beer selection to top it off.(P.S. Their lunch menu is awesome as well!!)

A great atmosphere to meet friends. I have been walking past this café so many times, and little did i know that it was a great spot to chill out. I look forward to coming back here again, so I can enjoy more of the sun, positive energy, and experiment with the menu.

Many, many years ago, the Shallow Man shared the opinion of many expats that it was difficult to get good service in restaurants in Amsterdam without spending lots of money. With this in mind, it was a pleasant surprise when some time during 2007 or 2008 when I discovered what to this day remains one of my favorites places in Amsterdam, De Duvel. They have remained consistently above average over the years, with great friendly service, lekker eten and on a Friday night a great atmosphere and an ambience that is similar to watching Lions hunting Antelope(or the other way round) on a safari. De Duvel has always been great value for money, and superb entertainment, a great place for people watching. Visit it on a Friday evening to learn everything you could possibly ever want to know about the Dutch dating scene, while drinking good wine from their small but well chosen list, and let the atmosphere draw you in. De Duvel is quite simply fantastic. I can’t recommend it enough.

Fantastic little pub with good beer and great food. I love Belgium beer, so the Leffe was great to see. Venison, fresh fish, and other great dinners. Nice little find in Amsterdam.
