What a bad place in a good location… Service was dismissive and overall bad to top it off with a 5% extra charge for paying with a credit card, which is the first time that happens in Amsterdam during this trip. I enjoyed sitting outside and the couple of beers I finally got after almost begging… But had to leave as I was sitting with an empty glass for 15? minutes… Unbelievable. Then, the 5%. Gross.

Food/drink was ok, but holy lord the service was easily the worst from any European city we visited on this trip(Amsterdam, Prague, Barcelona, Berlin). Aside from glacier paced service, refused to serve tap water since there were more than 4 people at our table(we had already gone through bottled water). To cap off the experience, they charged us an additional fee to use a credit card(no where was that info stated on menu or placard), which leads me to believe they prey on tourist.

On the corner of an area I frequent, this was bound to be a stop for me. After an evening of shopping with a friend, we figured we would grab a drink before heading home. It was a chilly evening recently, so the outside seating was enclosed, but still made for a nice spot to people-watch. We only got wine which was okay and nachos with salsa. There was some kind of seasoning on the nachos… maybe chili powder? Not really sure, but I don’t like spicy and it wasn’t too bad. The salsa was also just okay, but somehow I’ve gotten used to really good salsa, so I’m rather picky now. Service was fine too. All in all, nothing to write home about and I won’t go out of my way to stop in, but it’s fine if you really need a place for drinks and snacks.

Really fun, friendly place. We had a group of eight people including 8 kids between 6 and 12 and everyone found something yummy. The beer was cold and they have a nice selection of local stuff.

This place became a regular stop on our way home while in Amsterdam. They have some great wines and everything I ate was good. The service was different each time we went. For Americans wanting service, you will need to hail the waiter and not expect the same kind of service you get at home.

I only drank here, so I can’t judge the food, but the few hours I spent there were enjoyable. They have free wi fi and plenty of seats outside for when it’s sunny. Perfect for people watching as the world goes by. The thing that made this better than most of the average Dam bars is the large beer selection. They seemed to specialise in Belgium beers and had cool glasses or mugs to match each one. I got to try a lovely couple of beers I had never heard of before. I would say this bar is not spectacular, but it is a nice place to spend an hour or two in the sun trying a couple of new beers. Just be willing to wait a bit as the service can be slow.

Don’t wait for a waiter, you will starve or get parched. I was looking forward to several gastropubs in the Amsterdam area and this one was high on the list, but fell flat when I went. Service in Amsterdam in general is pretty non attentive, but this was completely unacceptable. We almost walked out and I never do that. Food was OK, definitley worth the wait.
