Ummm… do you like people-watching? Like watching ugly tourists lost and floundering? Well, I love it. With Texels Tripel beers in hand, its like peeping moving art. This place is a perfect spot to sit outside and take in the view. The bartender/waiter/whatever this bar needs may be slow but he’s chill and friendly enough not to ruin your viewing pleasure. Yes, there are like 4 other bars on this corner but this place seems way more relaxed. Hit it up.

The old grey haired bartender who works here has a serious stick up his butt. And not just a regular stick, but like a jagged, twisted, thorny one. That’s the only way to explain the service we got. We came by for a rest and a coffee/tea. We sat inside, he saw us, and didn’t bring us any menus; that’s fine, what we wanted was simple enough. He came by, asked if we were ready to order. I asked my friend, and before he could answer, the bartender ran off in a huff, angry that we were wasting his time. My friend asked for a tea, and the bartender came back with a green tea. My friend asked if he had any black tea and the bartender mouthed off something asking why he didn’t just ask that. My friend also asked for milk, and that’s when the guy went off. He started going on and on about how we kept making him walk back and forth, asking if we thought he was fat and needed more exercise or something. Total jerk. Also, their coffee and espresso comes from a shitty all-in-one machine. So don’t even bother with that.

This is a great place to sit and have a beer while the people at the bar next door stand and have a beer. It’s nice and peaceful here while the bar next door is loud and raucous. I have no idea what the attraction or difference is. The service here is good, friendly too. The location is fine just off Spui Square so you can people watch while you sip a few.
