The ambiance was really great and the restaurant as not at all crowded for a 7:30pm on Wed dinner. The staff was very helpful. Regarding gluten-free there were about 8 or so options on the menu between starters & entrees. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful in making recommendations. This is a great place to sneak away from some of the more blatant«touristy» areas and have a enjoyable evening.

My wife and I had seafood dinners there and the food was very good. The service is also good. It is a very popular place and you should make reservations.

After reading the reviews, most landed on good food and not very good service. I also noted that many over the reviews were from months to years in the past, so I figured things had changed. WRONG. I sat down and was totally ignored for at least 5 minutes — and even had several glances from the waitress so she knew I was there(and she was the one that seated me), Then one of her friends came in — and the waitress served her some desert while I still sat there waiting. A few minutes passed and then finally someone else came to serve me. Finally my food came, which was not bad, but when I finished I was ignored again, waiting a long time for a bill. In fact, the waiter that took my order starting eating at the bar right in front of me while I waited on my check. Finally, the original waitress that ignored me brought me my bill and I finally was able to escape. Fortunately in Amsterdam there is no shortage of places to eat, so definately no need to go back.

This was the one of two lunches I truly enjoyed in Amsterdam… because it has something other than just meat and cheese sandwiches on the menu and its not in the heart of tourism country. The salad here… incredible. Most places provide only French dressing and for this Californian who loves salads, but hates that particular dressing, it’s been hell. Then, came a light lemon and olive oil dressed version at Brix with fresh spinach as well! Service was friendly, not overly attentive or spaced out too much. You can tell its a favorite of locals, several friends came in to chat with the wait staff. Great décor as well, fresh and modern with great natural light… what I’d call the Anthropologie style of cafes. A great spot to stop in between shopping with all the local Dutch clothing designers.

Zero service whatsoever. Overpriced food and drinks. Drinks way overpriced. Still waiting on our food… It took about 10 minutes between the time we sat down and when someone came by to take our order. As soon as we ordered our drinks, the server stormed off without even giving us a chance to order for. Countless attempts to get our server’s attention came out empty handed. Another 15 minutes later, the drinks finally arrived. When I attempted to order something of the back of the menu, I was informed only the lunch menu was available and the server immediately offered us more time without even giving us a chance to respond before she stormed off again! We just placed our food order finally, more than half an hour after sitting down. I’ll update this review once the food actually arrives in an hour or so.

I really like this kind of place. It’s long and thin and lowly lite, with intriguing artwork on the walls and tightly packed tables. The food is pretty good and the wait staff charismatic and friendly. The beers on tap are lekker and the wine I have had the few times I’ve been there tasty too. Always seems to be packed with women for some reason.

Great lunch meals such as sandwiches, burgers and salads. The interior always made me feel like I’m in New York for some reason, but that might just be me… Friendly staff and Brix is also great for having drinks on weekend nights! Tip: take your friends for a burger on a Sunday afternoon and sit at the big table in the front area of the restaurant. For some reason I find this a very relaxing and fulfilling activity after a night out!

A solid choice off the touristy paths in Amsterdam. They have English menus, even though there isn’t one on the website. It’s a pretty cool more modern type of vibe. Service was relaxed and laid back. Waitress was friendly, but not overbearing. I had a steak and it was cooked properly and was flavorful. My friends got pasta and some small plates. After checking out a ton of flashy super busy spots, this was a great change of pace. Glad we checked this one out!

Terrible. Food is mediocre, table service absurd. Took 30 mins to give the menu, the food was brought out and the drinks came 40 mins later. They ignored us and avoided eye contact when we wanted to ask for the drinks. Definitely would not recommend. Would give lower than one star if possible.
