We’ve eaten here the last two mornings and I have to say I’m impressed. We’re in Amsterdam for a tattoo convention and were from America. We’re used to eating bagels and English muffins and stuff like that for breakfast. We haven’t had the easiest of times trying to find food out here that we could eat but this place was awesome. I ordered the everything bagel with sun dried tomato and pesto cream cheese and a yogurt. None of the yogurts I’ve had out here have been sweet, that includes London and Italy. I guess it’s just an American thing but just a little bit of honey and you’re good to go!

I haven’t had a bagel in over a year thanks to my gluten free diet. That all changed today thanks to Bagels and Beans! I enjoyed a gluten free bagel with cream cheese and a fresh orange juice on their lovely patio, very near to the Albert Cuypmarkt. Service was good at first, but in typical European fashion, I had to hunt down the bill when ready to leave. No bother, as it left me to enjoy the view a little longer.

The bagels are just ok, a little too small and dense that make them difficult to cut and the toppings fell off when I tried to eat it. I was a big fan of the vegetarian tuna melt that if I didn’t know better I’d have thought was real tuna(In fact, I actually do eat fish, just prefer vegetarian, and my dining companion ordered the real tuna melt and I tried it just to make sure ours were different). Of course, they don’t make that here, so I have to give the big ups to the vegetarian butcher.

I had a great experience here. I miss Bagels(born in NY and living in CH for 12 years) so much that when I saw this place, I had to go in. My first order was a basic bagel with cream cheese. It was so good that I immediately ordered the Japanese Salmon Bagel. They use sustainable ingredients when possible, which made everything even better ;) Delish… Coffee was also great. Service was also very helpful and friendly. My next time to Amsterdam will definitely include a few stops here!

BAGELSANDBEANS! I love this place! Normally I’m not HUGE fans of chains, but this place is great. Every time I visit Holland I make sure I go here. They have a great selection of bagels for breakfast, and do really good bagel sandwiches. And of course, the beans… their coffee is quite good too! On this particular occassion, a friend and I grabbed a coffee and muffin here before visiting the Albert Cuyp Markt. The weather was nice that day so we grabbed the last table we found outside to soak up the sun while we had our breakfast. I ordered a large latte and an apple muffin. The coffee was a perfect temperature, and they even warmed my muffin for me. The muffin itself was sweet, but not too sweet. A nice snack to keep me going as we walked around afterwards. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although I don’t normally split checks when eating out purely to make ti easier on the wait staff, the waitress actually offered to let us pay separately. Next time I’m in this area will be here again to grab my coffee before visiting the market.

Yes it’s a chain, there are all over Amsterdam, but there’s a good reason why they’re successful: their bagels are delicious! the best you can have in Amsterdam I would say. I love Bagels & Beans and I go there very often, specially this location in De Pijp. Very nice selection of bagels: some you can have with cream cheese(there are different kinds of cream cheeses that you can choose from to get a perfect synergy with your bagel!), and some are served without cream cheese but with some other dressing(but I recommend getting an extra cream cheese to finish your bagel!!), some are served cold and some are warmed up. I love the salmon one(but who doesn’t??), the tuna-melt is very dutch and nice, the omelette one is perfect for breakfast/brunch, … my favorite is the smoked chicken one! but really, all of them are delicious, I’ve never been disappointed. and if you are two people, try the tapas plate! one bagel each and different spreads and other deliciousness to go with such as guacamole, pesto cream cheese, tapenade, parma ham, … yummy! I wouldn’t recommend their sweets, as they have nothing special. Coffee is ok. Free wifi if you check in with facebook. Nice place to stick around and work on your computer once you are done with your bagel :) The interior isn’t particularly nice, but it’s ok: yellow walls and a kind of exotic decoration with palm trees and stuff… but there is a nice terrace!

I enjoy Bagels & Beans when I need a quick smaller bite to eat. A Wild Salmon sandwich on an everything bagel with chive cream cheese, always hits the spot. A cappuccino is my usual pairing with the sandwich. This location usually provides quick, friendly, attentive service. The staff always seems to be smiling and enjoying the day. The times I have visited all the seats have been filled. But usually the wait is not too long, or I get the sandwich to go. There are several locations around Amsterdam, and I have been to a couple of other locations as well. As you would expect from a chain, the food is consistent at each. I will need to expand my selections to provide a more thorough review of the menu, but the Wild Salmon has been tasty at each location. If you need a bite to eat, enjoy bagels, and are passing a Bagels & Beans, stop in for a bite.

Nice coffee place for breakfast, friendly service reasonable prices. we got two wellness breakfasts, it comes with coffee or tea/place a bowl of yoghurt and a lot of little jars with different toppings. i am not giving it more then 3 stars because i have ordered a cinnamon and raisin bagel as extra and it wasn’t too fresh, and that is the least i expect from a bagel place. Anyway it is worth a visit.

Bagels&Beans; In Amsterdam it might sound a little boring to go to this place since it has so many locations and everyone know it, but I do come here really often. And that is because it is just a great place. The prices are fine and their bagels are really the best. Never had a better one. Really love the Parmabella bagel. Also I’m a fan of their Matcha latte(I love green tea!). Actually I just love anything here. The have an awesome deal which is ‘Zin-in-zoet’, sort of a high tea with all kinds of pastries and sweetness. Really nice and a good price(7,25 p. p??, something like that). Also they have great breakfast deals! And their Nutcase! So good! Yeah, I’m a fan :)

In Amsterdam the place to go for bagels is Village Bagels, I don’t even know why I go to Bagel & Beans — probably a convenience /free wi-fi thing. The interior is kinda bland, but it’s the food that really doesn’t do it for me! Perhaps if you like hummus in your bagel this is the place for you! But I’m a plain cream cheese on poppy seed kinda girl, I like to keep my bagel a bagel and not a sandwich — and then it’s certainly no standout. Dry cream cheese, on an overly toasted bagel. Back in the day they used to have a delicious raspberry and white chocolate muffin, but I noticed that they now have taken it off the menu. That’s was really the only thing worth going back for. You’ll also find other branches scattered around the city.

I’m not sure which location of Bagels & Beans I visited, but I imagine they are all similar. I had a whole grain bagel with sundried tomato pesto cream cheese and an iced blended coffee, and both were simply amazing, especially for such simple things. You could tell that the bagels were freshly made and prepared(for my fiancé, as well), and the coffee wasn’t sweetened at all, which was really nice. It was perfect. I find it so hard to find frozen coffee drinks that aren’t full of sugar! The service, while slow, was good nevertheless; our waitress was friendly and spoke English well, and I think our food took a while because it was fresh. I don’t mind that. I would definitely return, regardless of it being a chain.
