Amsterdam Rai

The congress is well equipped and organized, and the staff is very friendly. High speed Wifi, fresh drinks and snacks and a location easy to reach.

Das Messezentrum liegt unmittelbar an der Autobahn, im Süden von Amsterdam. Eigentlich eine gute und perfekte Lage. Die Messehallen sind sicherlich verwinkelt verbunden, und auch ein wenig unübersichtlich beim ersten Besuch. Der Gesamteindruck des Messegeländes ist recht ordentlich und großflächig mit weitläufigem Außenbereich. Vielleicht ein wenig zu großzügig, denn Parkplätze scheinen bei einem Fachevent schon maximale Mangelware zu sein. Sodas man am weniger besuchten Tag schon auf einen extrem weit entfernten Not Parkplatz ausweichen musste. Der RAI Parkplatz 11, bzw. 12 (
) ist über 8 km entfernt. Leider trübt das den Gesamteindruck doch extrem.

My company hosted our annual conference and meetings at the Rai. It was very accommodating for our group of close to 5K.
I will say, the first day was a bit chaotic with everyone getting into the swing of things and the bathroom line was insane, but as the days went on, everyone learned where other hidden bathrooms were located which made everything a bit smoother — pun intended.
The food at the conference center was mediocre, but for catering to that many people, I felt they did a decent job. There was a variety of foods and plenty to drink which was a plus.
Overall the Rai was a good spot that was big enough for our group without making us feel lost in a huge center.

Großes, straff organisiertes Messezentrum. Bin jährlich einmal hier im September :-)
Wenigstens versinkt die RAI nicht im Chaos wie der öffentliche Nahverkehr zu Messezeiten.
Dieses Jahr neue Höchstpreise bei den Ess-​Ständen in den Hallen: Burger mit Kartoffel Wedges EUR 14,50. Belegtes Baguette EUR 9,00. Ohne mich.

The trade fair place for Amsterdam.
Quite big, in the city (actually within the ring). Not the most modern buildings as it had been built years ago but it is kept up to date.
Perfect organisation and really easy to reach by Metro, train and tram. Parking lot very ample but be aware of waiting time to get out of it when the fair closes as everyone wants to get out and you are in the city… not in the country side.
For who never went there, there is a city beach within the area where in summer lot of people lounges there and sip drinks at the bar… quite cool.
Inside the area a lot of bars and big restaurants with average quality food but over all good.
Well done RAI (not to be confused with the Italian Public TV Broadcasting system).

I was here for BlackBerry Jam Europe and the facilities were good for that event. The location is pretty good as well: 15 minutes from downtown and the RAI is accessible via train as well.

A large exhibition center with 12 permanent halls, a large auditorium and several meeting rooms of varying sizes. They are adding new exhibition space every few year but it never seems enough for the large shows such as the International Broadcasting convention. Easily accessible by train, metro and trams it also has large parking lots… however if you arrive too late on a busy day you may loose some time has there are remote parking lots P15/​16 that are a couple km away and you’ll need to take the shuttle bus.
Several good food options on site and a fair extra selections across the street from Hall 7.

Visited the RAI for IBC event, it’s huge and confusing but clean and nice to walk around.

Das Amsterdamer Konferenzzentrum ist das RAI. Ein üblicher Betonbunker, in dem man den Rest seines Lebens verlaufen und verstecken kann.
Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Aber Vorsicht, die Schranke ist bei der Einfahrt offen und bei der Ausfahrt muss ein Tagesticket für 15,50EUR gezogen werden. Und wehe man lässt das Auto über Nacht dort stehen.
Für mich Persönlich war es sehr schwer mich im RAI zu orientieren. Das Personal war zwar bemüht aber gerade die ersten Tage vollkommen überlastet.
Die Hallen heizen sich durch die teilweise Verglasung schnell auf. Auch sind die Lichtverhältnisse teileweise grenzwertig für IT Veranstltungen.
Allerding verstehen das Reinigungspersonal seinen Job. Toilette, Gänge und Halen waren immer Tip Top.
Großes Manko war auch, dass es wenige Chill-​out Plätze gab.

The RAI hosts the Internation Broadcasting Convention every September. It is an amazing show that features the latest technology in Televison Broadcast.
The RAI center is a series of several halls that are all connected together. Imagine walking in a giant circle from building to building. There is also plenty of food to choose from too. I must recommend that you try the sausage roll. It is a baked pastry filled with sausage… I got my co-​workers from London hooked on them… it was funny because when I first told them about it they thought that it was gross. We ended up having a sausage roll break every day at 2pm.
Make sure you bring good comfy shoes because there is alot of walking here. There are a few nice outdoor resturants to eat at by the RAI.

Very good exhibition center and halls. Nicely located with sufficiient car parking space (EURO 15, — per day payable by credit card only) and quick access to the motorway, airport and city center.

Ich kenne sehr viele Messeplätze in Europa, war aber jetzt zur International Broadcasting Conference das erste mal in Amsterdam. Das RAI ist ein mittelgroßes, sehr angenehmes Messegelände. Gutes Layout, sehr freundlches Personal, gut organisiert.
Einziges Problem: auch hier sind wie auf anderen Messen auch die Verpflegungspreise unverschämt.

A huge conference venue, this place comes with its own beach. What more could you ask for in a conference centre?
The rooms are great and the acoustics are top notch. Everything seems new and recently done but that could be coloured by the fact that it has been under construction for aout a year or two.
It is a bit large and easy to get lost in but the segmentation of areas lends itself well to either large expo space or smaller conference rooms.
Staff here were great — really friendly and helpful. When the catering went wrong — as it invariably will, they fixed it.
A top notch place to hold a conference.
