Coconuts

Nice ambience, nice terrace complemented by good food. The patio is a nice place for a romantic dinner with live music from a Mexican trio.

Coconuts is a great place for outside dining and cocktails. The food and service are both top notch. They have a full bar and a good wine list. The servers are friendly and everyone speaks English. They even had turkey on Thanksgiving. Ask for Ron, he is the Manager and a great host.

Where can I start? What an incredible dining experience. The food was excellent, the service fantastic and the ambience perfect for a memorable dining event. My wife, and my two favorite sisters in law were celebrating our first full day in Zihua, and one sister’s birthday.
Dinner started with a round of cocktails, margaritas, piña colada and daiquiri. The meal itself began with appetizers to share. We had the calimari, which was freshly prepared with a green sauce, and a tomato and goat cheese salad. Our appetizers were served with fresh baked rolls and herb butter.
The entrees arrived next, coconut shrimp, grilled lobster (the buena vista preparation), red snapper with lemon and capers and the evening’s special, curried shrimp. Every meal was a delight. The lobster, my entrée was a fresh spiny lobster grilled to perfection served with grilled asparagus and butter for dipping. We shared a bottle of local Chardonnay, Casa Medro, that went well with all of our dishes.
Topping off our dinner we shared a flourless chocolate cake with fresh coconut ice cream. The ice cream was so good that we asked for seconds. We also had the Flan de Coco, which was probably the least remarkable dish, but still good enough to take back to the resort for breakfast.
The staff was excellent and incredible attentive. Arturo, our waiter, was wonderful. His English was WAY better than our Spanish. He kept us smiling throughout our 2 hour dinner. The entire staff came out to sign happy birthday to the birthday girl with hugs all around, along with sparkling wine on the house.
This dinner will be a hard to beat experience.
