This little gourmet«ice cream» stand was situated in the center of what appeared to be a tiny farmers market. Perhaps 20 very small food stands were all gathered in a city square, but only sold organic, free range, and gourmet options. As ice cream aficionados, we were drawn to try the offerings of Aihnoa. They had a number of craft flavors available(I had cereal, with a topping of amaranth). While the product was little icy, a characteristic that I am usually quite critical of(but tends to be common in Mexico), there was something about the flavor that made up for it. It did not taste like flavored ice, but had enough milk to balance things out. Additionally, they seemed to be into their craft, and I prefer to support small business ventures like this. If you’re in la Plaza de Armas of Querétaro, on a weekend, stop by and check them out.
