Tacos Don Felix

A group of us went for dinner after seeing a play. Service was spot on! I had the tacos which came with 7 different styles. Everyone of them were delicious! Others in our party were very satisfied with their dinners also. From steak to seafood, everyone enjoyed the evening. Its a must visit!

Tacos Don Felix (en la casa) is one of our must-​go places. It is family owned-​operated and has the best authentic Mexican food arounf.
The staff is family and they take great pride in providing the BEST service, food and experience.

Este negocio inició con un carrito en la calle. Desde hace ya varios años se mudó a la casa de Don Felix en donde es amablemente atendido por toda su familia.
El lugar está lejos del centro y en medio de una colonia a la cual un turista no llegaría jamás. Quien sabe de este lugar es porque es local o algún local lo llevó. Se debe llegar ya sea por coche o en taxi. Sobre todo es famoso entre la comunidad extranjera del pueblo lo cual ya le garantiza una buena vida a un restaurante en San Miguel.
Los platillos son 100% mexicanos (aunque ya han agregado platillos para darle gusto a todos sus comensales como por ejemplo costillitas BBQ) y las porciones son generosas. El sabor de la comida es super caserito y muy rico.
Sobre todo me encanta encontrarme con un negocio de locales que han sabido hacerla bien y que en familia, como sería de esperarse de mexicanos, se apoyan y le chambean duro para crecer y salir adelante. Bien por Don Felix y su familia.

We visited San Miguel in late October and dined here after it being recommended. I do not remember the name of the dish, but I had some sort of enchilada with potato inside, which was amazing! This was one of the best meals I had in SMA and would highly recommend a trip to Don Felix Tacos if you’re in the area. The food was all good and the atmosphere was very comforting.

We dined «en casa» at Taco Don Felix last night and had a great experience. The atmosphere was fabulous and the staff was top notch, friendly and spoke good english. They were very knowledgeable and highly courteous. The dinner started with cocktails and wine for our party of 12. We enjoy chatting over beverages and were not rushed to place our orders. The wine list was very limited but the choices were very good with everyone enjoying a huge pours of whites and reds. The cocktails were also expertly mixed and generous. Everyone enjoyed dinner and the food was plentiful. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and the architecture in the establishment was amazing.
If you’re visiting SMA be sure and take a taxi up to Taco Don Felix.

This restaurant began several years ago underneath a tent and, because of its popularity, has since moved into an elegant house with romantic outdoor and indoor seating. It’s located in a neighborhood that is off the beaten path of tourist haunts, though only a ~12 minute, inexpensive cab ride from the historic center of town. The menu contains more as well as less traditional Mexican cuisine. It includes delicious quesadillas, tacos and enchiladas as well as filet mignon and barbecue baby back ribs. The gracious owner, Felix, or one of his relatives will likely be your server (the service is fantastic), and either English or Spanish works. Although the menu is heavy with meat and fish, Felix put together a vegetarian taco platter for me (including various vegetables, rice, beans, and huitlacoche) that was delicious and filling.
Note that Don Felix is only open on Friday through Sunday night. The restaurant can arrange a cab for you to return to your apartment.
