well first of all the ice cream is not coconut, it’s Biznaga, a cactus that takes 10 years to ripen! You can’t buy the cactus anywhere, it’s protected, and it comes from chef Alfonso’s own garden. The taste is incredible, with flavors of roasted coconut, ginger. hard to describe and like nothing I have ever had. And the food! The enchiladas con mole de Huitlacoche are delicious. My favorite(besides the mezcal, which you can not find anywhere else) i think is the Tlyuda, sort of an ancient Oaxacan pizza on a thin, crunchy toasted tortilla. Everything is handmade healthy adaptations of ancient Oaxacan recipes. There is nothing else like it in San Miguel. I would eat here every day if I could.

Moved and just reopened on Del Palmar near Relox(next to the Mercado de Artisianas). Truly delightful, delicious, and unique. Modern healthy adaptations of 500+ year old Oaxacan recipes like no Mexican food I have ever had before. Mescal, hand crafted from a family distillery, infused with aromatic herbs and plants. Coconut cream ice cream with chunks of cactus berries, orange zest, pineapple is unbelievable and officially the best in San Miguel. Dine in or take away from the deli and don’t miss the attached gallery of mind blowing original art and ninaji comics!
