Don’t waste your money coming here. It’s dirty, they discriminate you if you’re not Spanish speaking native. The place is a dump. Not worth anything.

What a disappointment once again. We’ve been coming here since 1992 and nothing changes … Except the rooms are older and older and not kept up. So happy our contract expires in two years. It’s a hassle getting here it’s a hassle after you get here and they want More money for maintenance every year! What are they doing with that money if our room is below par??? Got our room changed to Elite because it’s a slow season. However, if we want to stay in the updated suites next time, we have to spend another $ 13,000 and go «lifetime» which AIN’T gonna happen!!! Then we find out we have SIX more years on our contract because we upgraded back in 1996!!! Thought we were almost done with this place

the big plus about this place is the service. we checked in and went to our room and I did not like the view from the 2nd floor and Ivan at the front desk got me an amazing upgrade for only $ 120 for the stay. Well worth it. The food is pretty good. Keep in mind I knew coming here that this was not a ritz or JW marriott. The bellmen Oscar and Jesus took care of everything i needed. The pool staff excellent my drink was never empty.

Having stayed here three times in the last 15 years I can tell you the service has continued to get worse at each stay. I am not sure if it is the culture of the people or just this hotel. The specialty restaurants have gone downhill where service is deplorable. The rooms not on the 8th or 9th floor need some upgrades and maintenance. We have stayed at Riu in the last year and I would recommend that unless you are with an older crowd.

El Sunset es un hotel bastante cómodo, aunque tengo que mencionar que para mi gusto es uno de los pocos hoteles de toda la zona hotelera que no cuenta con tan buen servicio, pueden mejorar bastante capacitando al personal, especialmente a los meseros, porque tuve una mala experiencia pero no solo con uno sino con varios. Realmente el hotel esta bastante bien, buenas instalaciones, excelente mantenimiento, en resumen las instalaciones están muy bien y el todo incluido también, tal vez sea que los meseros no son tan amables porque si note que muchas personas no dejan propina al creer que están incluidas, pero con la manera de atenderte ni aunque tengas intención de dejárselas podrás hacerlo porque no lo ganan. Pero olvidando el servicio de meseros es un buen hotel.
