It’s sooooo delicious!!! The old gentle waiter is sooo nice!

Stale chips and bland, chewy steak was not worth the 30-minute bus ride from the Hotel Zone. I felt like a tourist chump falling for all the positive reviews.

Got the Camaron cocktail and my boyfriend got the chicken mole. Both were absolutely AMAZING. The service was amazing as well. I’m glad we found this place and will definitely go back again.

Special note: While the food and drinks are a 4.5 star, I couldn’t give it that because of the horrible exchange rate given. In most other places you are given 17.00 for exchange rates. In this one establishment, however, they give only 15.00. So our meal should have been 23.00 and ended up over $ 27. I would like to say that we will definitely go back– but will first exchange our money. There is a place close by this restaurant that has a sign out front– exchange rates were 19.00 Look for it before eating there! Our mistake.

This place is excellent! The green chile is out of this world hot but you can’t stop eating it Great service and friendly staff. Worth a bus trip to downtown Cancun.

This place is amazing!!! Everything we ordered here was so delicious and came in big portion. My husband and I got ceviche plate, grilled seafood plate and spicy shrimp plate — even though we were starving, this was too much food. I will definitely come back here next time I am in town, and will get the grilled seafood plate again for sure !!!

We had a party of 14 and every meal was excellent! The atmosphere is authentic. Continue down the alley for churro stands, desert, coffee and more. From the hotel zone just hop the R1 to Tulum ave, cross the street and go toward casa del whopper and you have arrived.

What a great find. Friendly attentive service, many choices on menu and well prepared food at a good price. We had beef fajitas, Mexican steak and a New York strip steak. Everyone liked their meal, it was so much food we couldn’t even contemplate a churro from the stall down the street after dinner.

Came here based on Unilocal reviews and was sorely disappointed. Was famished after I landed, and eager to have my first meal in Mexico. Pik Nik was a short walk from my hotel, and I should have known it was a tourist trap by the location and patrons. Still, I was hungry, and relied on the 4 stars it received on Unilocal.I assumed Unilocal would not lead me astray, but unfortunately I was wrong. The service was great, but food was lackluster. I got a margarita(I am in Mexico right?), ceviche, and pollo with mole sauce. The margarita was far too strong(maybe that’s why people flock here, but I don’t like when alcohol overwhelms the flavor of the drink), the ceviche was passable(I’ve had better in LES in NY), and the mole left A LOT to be desired(the Mexican joint a block from my apartment in Brooklyn was better). I’m aware NY can spoil you, but I had hoped for better Mexican food in Mexico. If you’re looking for loud mouthed, drunk Americans ordering nachos + quesadillas, look no further. I might as well have gone to On the Border(no offense to patrons of On the Border). I can be loud and obnoxious as well for sure, but only when the eats + drinks are on point.

This is probably my favorite place in cancun to eat. It’s a little hard to find if your coming from the hotel zone you can take the r1 bus and get off on tulum ave. once on tulum ave look for a Burger King and walk down that street then you will be able to see it on the right hand side. They have a lot of different things on the menu but I went with the garlic shrimp and the mixed plate of seafood. We had the ceviche for starters which was good. The ceviche was great with the slices of avocados. And the entrees came with a little bit of salad and rice. The shrimp was delicious and very juicy. And the mixed plate of seafood was spicy and tasty. Some may find the sauce for the plate a little too spicy or salty but in my opinion it was just right. Whenever I go to cancun I make sure to stop by at least one time

I would’ve given 5 stars, except that the night we went(8pm on Wednesday night), they had ran out of guacamole. We were kind of taken aback by this — avocado is such a staple in Mexican dishes and who doesn’t want some guac as an appetizer? The tacos we ordered were delicious and came with a generous helping of rice and beans, so it made up for the lack of guac. The margaritas were also yummy — and the whole meal(for 2 people) cost no more than $ 30CAD. A mariachi band serenaded us on the patio, which was fun. It’s a good spot for people-watching while sipping margaritas!

I don’t usually post reviews. I am in the restaurant biz myself which I find a glitch in the system of interest based reviews. That, and as a business owner I don’t have time for reviews. However, this restaurant deserves all due respect. If you want to appreciate Yucatan flavor with quality cooking techniques, I recommend this place. It does a great job of surfacing local quality ingredients. Great seafood, chill atmosphere, and hard workers who care about the restaurant. When staff cares, it really does make a difference in the food. I had the mixed seafood grill and was blown away with the texture and flavor.

I found Pik Nik on Unilocal and couldn’t have been happier. Located on a pedestrian only street in downtown Cancun, Pik Nik is a small, casual restaurant that offers covered out door seating, delicious food, and great people watching. What we ordered: — Guacamole: 5⁄5 — Inexpensive, fresh, nice presentation. Great appetizer. — Stuffed fish: 5⁄5 — AMAZING! This dish would easily cost $ 20 in the US. Incredibly fresh filet of white fish stuffed with shrimp and scallops, and topped with a yummy red sauce that wasn’t too heavy or overwhelming. Served with salad and rice. One of the tastiest meals I’ve had in a while. — Carne asada burrito: 4.5÷5 — Husband loved it. He said it was simple, fresh and exactly what he wanted. Served with salad and rice. — Chips and salsa are complimentary. Caution — salsa is hot! — Blended margaritas are a must! I don’t remember what our meal set us back, but it was pretty reasonable and the atmosphere was great. This place seems to attract tourists but that didn’t bother us — take it as a sign that the food is safe and delicious. If you want a more authentic experience head to the park down street from Pik Nik and hit up the food stands.

Took the R1 bus from the hotel zone to downtown Cancun, found this wonderful little hole in the wall eatery off the main street. The service was fantastic, the beer was cold and the food was outstanding and a lot more favorable then at the hotel, real Mexican cuisine. The chicken and chorizo tacos and a chicken and steak taco were outstanding.

There was nothing particularly spectacular about Pik Nik. The prices are inflated and everyone there is a tourist. Service was slow and not fantastic. The quesadilla everyone raves about is literally cheese in a tortilla with NADAMAS. There are so many other restaurants and vendors around the area near the Parque Palapas that I wish I’d not relied on Unilocal but just check out some of the other places nearby. Also, the signage is small so it’s hard to identify. Just look for the nicer(ish) restaurant with all the gringos sitting outside.

Best food I’ve had in the week I’ve been in Cancun. I wish I found it earlier!!! The quesadilla was so delicious and so was the white fish cocktail. Since we have been drinking so much I ordered their fresh limeade and I loved it. Now the service is on a level of its own. Jesus was our waiter and he was so nice and so helpful, I truly appreciated this place and I cannot recommend it more. Also last but not least they have some of the best chips and salsa not only in comparison to LA but in Mexico too!!!

While trying to find a place for dinner after a quick walk around Cancun, we were able to find this place after using Unilocal. We wanted something that was more local and was Yucatan food and well Pik Nik was the place! The server was quite good, very helpful and had very good English when we were asking about different dishes. We ended up having an enmolada and ceviche. Enmoladas & Mixed Seafood Ceviche were both really good. It was a great first meal in Cancun. The chips and salsa also quite on point. If you know me… chips and salsa are my achilles heal. I can’t pass it up and it was soooooo good. Overall, I would be back, but if you really want something fun and adventurous… walk all the way down the street towards west… and you’ll stumble upon a park with some food stalls. I wish we had tried the food there. But don’t get me wrong… Pik Nik was really great and I would totally come back!

After finally finding this place(your GPS will route you to the alley one street over, you need to go one street over near the Telcel store) we sat at one of their outdoor tables. We ordered a ceviche as a starter, yum! The chips and salsa were okay. They advised us in English which was hot and which was not, thats always a good thing! We then ordered the carne asada and fish tacos, which were about the size of a dollar taco you would order in the US. It was served with a tiny bowl of beans and a tiny scoop of rice. The plates were about $ 6 each. The tacos were just ok. Service was friendly but the flies that bit me at the table were not!
