El Callejon

El lugar no tiene gran ciencia, es realmente pequeño, pero fuimos con altas expectativas por los buenos comentarios que vimos, pero quizá no fue un buen día para ir. Primero tengo que decir que anuncian tienen las mejores margaritas de Cancún, pero la mía estaba lejos de ser la mejor que he probado, estaba OK. Para terminar, y motivo por el cual ya no quisimos ordenar nada más de comida, en nuestra mesa encontramos una hermosa patita de cucaracha. En fin, las estrellas son una por el servicio muy amable y otra por la música.

We stumbled upon this little eatery while we meandered through downtown Cancun. It seemed that most places weren’t quite yet open and were setting up for the day. When we arrived at Mercado 28, we were starving and hot. We found this place was open and had a friendly staff – always a plus. Service will make or break a place hands down. The owner Mitchell and his staff were very attentive, not that they were busy but still, it is always a good sign when they are checking up on you to make sure everything is good. Everyone was friendly, the place was clean, and it had its own bathroom. The last being a plus because the bathroom at Mercado 28 charges 2 Pesos to use.
We don’t drink alcohol so we can’t comment on the best margaritas in Cancun but what we did have was good and tasty. The portions were more than I could finish! The only recommendation would be to get an actual DEEP FRYER for the fries. They were a bit soggy. Overall though-​we will definitely return when we are back.
