The food was good for fried food. I like how they have a green and red sign to use when ready to order. Our server was right there when we had the red sign(ready to order sign) which made it easy to get her attention. Our skinny margaritas were good, not strong, but that’s ok since we had been drinking in cancun for the past week.

This was a one and done experience for me. My wife ordered popcorn shrimp, The shrimp basket was actually fried shrimp, fried chicken pieces, fried peppers, and all the fried scraps that fall in the bottom of the fry basket. we didn’t get any plates for our food, so my brother made plates for us out of the paper towels on the table, the rest of the food we ordered was soaked in grease. The next time i need an oil change in my car I’ll go to bubba gump instead of jiffy lube. I strongly advise anyone who like their money to not waste it on bubba gump. The food was too expensive and soggy grease scraps. Bubba Gump can just stay in the movie, no need to have a shitty restaurant.

Was very happy I read the reviews prior to ordering any food from this establishment. My worst nightmare would be an upset stomach on a 5.5 hour flight home! Opted to have some drinks instead. Tried to order a pomegranate margarita but they were out of syrup. Deciding against booze after all I ordered the speckled lemonade instead at 99 pesos. My buddy ordered some fancy drink with a take home cup. It was pretty tasty but had a ton of ice and not much drink. Being that the AC in the Cancun airport left a lot to be desired, I also ordered water. They don’t serve free water, only bottled Evian. Quality yes, but another expense. I downed the water and finished my lemonade. The server came back and asked if we were ordering food. We passed. He then told me that I could only have one refill on the lemonade. First, I wasn’t planning on loading my bladder full of lemonade before 5.5 hours. I despise airplane bathrooms so it was not my intention. I wanna put in my earphones, tuck my 6’3 husky self into the window and not move until landing. Second, at over $ 6 for a freaking lemonade that’s a bit crazy. And last but not least the menu clearly stated bottomless lemonade. In any case, it was expected after reading some of the other reviews. So 2 drinks, 2 bottles of water and $ 35 later we left. Been to other Bubba’s and will probably go back to some other location but never the Cancun airport again!

We came to Bubba Gump Shrimp because we had some time to kill before our flight home. There’s flight monitors, so it’s easy to keep track of time. I concur with all the reviews on here. It’s overpriced and the service is meh. The signs to get the servers’ attention works well but it makes me think they’re just lazy to do their job well. Food was tasty and portions were large though. My friends got fried seafood and chicken fingers which came with plenty of fries(too much actually, we barely ate half). Their hush puppies were delicious. For my meal, I keep it healthy and ordered the Mushroom Veggie Burger. They couldn’t replace the buns for wheat, so I just took the buns off. The burger included cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado, a light sauce and fries. I liked the burger but less salt would have made it perfect. We also got lemonades that were tasty but were so expensive(about $ 10). It took them over 10 minutes to get us our drinks which is ridiculous. But our server was speedy when we would use the signs. If you are looking to eat at the airport, I’d look somewhere else for a better deal.

Let me start by saying I’m a big fan of Bubba Gump shrimp. It’s something I associate with holidays and as a bit of a treat as I’ve never been able to get it where I live(there is one in London now though). I’ve eaten at the one in Hong Kong, San Francisco and another before this experience. This is a theme restaurant where normally you get asked trivia about The film Forrest Gump and you can win vouchers or a free side or something and the friendly banter is pleasant. Possibly this was due to it being in an airport but there was no friendly service and we had to request service despite the«run or stop» concept of the restaurant. Saying that, service was fast which is most important at an airport. The cocktails are good and you get a souvenir glass when you purchase one — a boxed glass from the store. We also had the shrimp Mac n cheese and the south of the Border chipotle shrimp(as in Mexican). This was very tasty as usual. It’s a fun place to kill some time but I just didn’t get the full experience at this place and the waiter was hanging around for a tip when we didn’t really get service. It’s also pretty experience for Mexico but also the exchange rate was higher than average making it even more expensive

This place is a total rip off, but when in Terminal 2 of the Cancun airport there aren’t many choices around. Recently while waiting on my flight home I decided to drop in here for a couple of cold beers and a cheeseburger. Big mistake. The beers were cool, not cold and the burger tasted as if it was a cheap microwavable hamburger. And the price was well over 600 pesos for the cheeseburger and 3 beers; that’s like twice what you would expect to pay outside the airport. Service started off really well, but after my first beer I ended up having to wave down the bartenders for another beer and to order food; there was at least 3 of them working and only 4 customers at the bar.

Horrible service and SLOW!!! Wait time was an hour and a half from sitting to when we received our food. When it did come of course it was wrong. Don’t miss your flight eating here

Not only did I wait 45 minutes for a pre-made pork sandwich, but got a sandwich that resembled a loaf of bread… I thought I ordered meat?

The omelet was a little too cheesy but all-in-all one of the better Forrest Gump themed restaurants I have eaten at. 3 stars.

Awful experience! Our waiter was Carlos. After 10 minuets of sitting with out anyone acknowledging us I put the Stop Forrest stop sign up and finally Carols arrives and He started our experience by walking up and asking us «WHAT?! « He was extremely condescending, and was rude when I corrected my order that he got wrong and even insulted us saying we did not need a side salad because we were fat enough. It took over half an hour for our food to arrive and then only two of the three plates arrived. We asked where the third plate was which arrived several minutes later. Between the timing and the extremely uncomfortable vibe the waiter put off I truly felt for first time in my life my food had been messed with. We were not ‘rude fat Americans’ to this waiter and he treated us awful. I must say management was very helpful and comped our meal that I did not eat for fear of what they had done to it. Thank you management for your professionalism. Even still we will never return to this chain again.

Extremely poor service… The food quality is just so so, and the waitress kinda force you to pay for 15% tips although the service is so bad. They did so many stupid things, like taking your napkin away when you haven’t finished your meal, and giving you only knives but not forks and knives for pasta and rice dishes. Absurd place and service

Nice place to have lunch while waiting for flight departures out of CUN. If you sit towards the front, you can see the flight monitors(nicer to wait at the restaurant vs. the gate). Prices are high(more than you’d likely pay in Cancun or Playa) and service is really slow for an airport restaurant. But, we like it if we have a long wait. Good is good and predictable.

I just wished I saw those reviews before I stepped into this scam restaurant. Check your bill before you pay!!! I’m not gonna mention the order they messed up totally, the ignorant/slow services they provided, just they tried to charge us $ 179 peso for a speckled lemonade and when we found out the price error they told me the $ 99 peso ones are smaller ones, I’m very surprised they would say that to my face even with the menu is open and the price is clearly states there, and then we figured we will use all the pesos before leaving, so we gave the waitress $ 300 peso and use the credit card for the remaining amount, omg again! The waitress told us we only gave her $ 200 peso, we asked her to take it out from her pocket and checked again, she did and apologized said she didn’t see… C’om at that point I just wanna get up and leave, are all bubba gump like that or we are just being unlucky? I’ll never go back to this restaurant for the rest of my life for sure!

Very bad service, probably the worst that I have ever had. You are better off at Starbucks.

Ate at this restaurant yesterday and have been shitting ever since. I am convinced I: a) have yellow fever from one of the numerous mosquito bites I received while on vacation, or b) ate bad shrimp at bubba gump. Since everyone in my party can attest to feeling the same as I do after eating here, I tend to lean toward the latter. My group decided to stop and try this place while waiting for our delayed plane to arrive on 12⁄14 and I think it was the worst mistake i’ve made in a long time. While the food was tasty(I had a shrimp po-boy sandwich, my girlfriend had a shrimp and rice dish and my sister had the stuffed shrimp and we all shared the shrimp seviche) and the service was good, the after effect is not worth it. My diarrhea episode began shortly after getting on the plane back to LAX — maybe an 1.5 hours after eating. I stayed in the lavatory for at least 30 minutes(very inconsiderate, I know, for me to have to be in the bathroom that long on an airplane that has only 2 restrooms for the general public to use but I could not help it, blame bubba and his inability to prepare food in a sanitary environment) in a cold sweat as the demon flushed through me uncontrollably. Soon after landing, I rushed to use the airport bathroom for another bout with diarrhea. Upon picking up my car, 30 minutes after using the airport bathroom, I had to use the bathroom again… you see where this is going. This continues to right now where I feel my insides bubbling as I type this message. I don’t even want to begin to think about how unclean and unkempt the kitchen is at this location to cause this to happen to me, someone who can usually eat questionable food and not be phased. Although I am very concerned about my health related to ingesting the contaminated food, my bigger concern is for my pregnant girlfriend who is beginning to feel the effects from the shrimp today. After reading so many reviews on tripadvisor from people around the world who have similar experiences at this specific location(Cancun Airport) I think that corporate ought to consider shutting down this location permanently. Livid does not even begin to describe my thoughts at paying the amount of money that we did(over $ 120.00US including tax and tip) only for us all to get sick. I will personally never eat here again which is a shame because the seviche was actually really good.

My wife and I didn’t get a chance to eat breakfast before we left our resort, so we were starving. We stopped here to grab a breakfast sandwich on our way through the airport. We waited five minutes before anyone bothered to seat us, then once we ordered, we sat and waited for half an hour for our food. How long does it take to make an egg sandwich? The food never came, and they never came back to our table to check on us. When I got up and interrupted the little giggle club the waitresses were having to ask about my food, they acted like i was way out of line and being offensive. We left and went to Johnny rocket’s. Bottom line: avoid this place

Decided to try Bubba Gump after a great vacay! Never been to one ever. Never going again. The license plate server notification process is idiotic obviously someone from the home office thought up that pile of crap idea! Most likely they were not even a server… We asked for apps to be brought out separate. They were not. We flipped plates and 6 ppl passed by before we were helped. Each time a different server, of course, that’s why our apps were brought out at same time as entrees. This issue caused our tables to be flooded with plates. I asked for some hot sauce and they brought me Tabasco? WTH? There are 20 bottles of hot sauce on walls everywhere. Again, probably a corporate figure head who thought they would look neat on wall… let me use the hot sauce, duh! The shrimp fajitas were under seasoned and shrimp po boy was poorly assembled. After working in industry for several years, there are way to many employees just walking around here. Again, this is my first time here and this may be the norm for service expectations but I doubt it. Lastly, we opted to pay for cash for meal. We left cash on table because 10m later the server(whoever it was this time) never came back to collect. It stayed on table for an additional 10m after we left. Also, it was not busy on this day… wonder why?

NOPE! I will never be coming back here again. Just a rip off. My hubby and I left our Cancun resort extremely hungry and decided to stop in here for a quick breakfast before our flight. We each had two eggs, toast, bacon, one cup of coffee, and one shot of tequila… and the bill… get this $ 85USD. From now on we eat breakfast at the resort or eat in the airport’s food court before leaving. PS: On top of the crazy high expensive price we paid. it got worse. We got food poisoning from them. YES! Do not go here.

After eating some $ 15 burgers at Johnny Rockets, we came to the bar at Bubba Gump to get or drink on before the long flight home. Our bartender was right on the spot and I would have given 4 stars except for the $ 15 bar tab for two beers

Breakfast at a place that has sea food is not a bad idea. We ordered french toast and omelet with ham and cheese. French Toast was sweet and honestly I have a sweet tooth and it was perfect. Omelet was great perfect as well. Let’s see the bill not bad at all 25, remember coffe and white toast also included in that price

First of all, I paid $ 40 for a hamburger and drink. Secondly, my credit card number was stolen at this restaurant. How do I know? Because false charges of $ 1200 were placed on my within an hour of paying my waitress. Also, a fellow traveler, had false charges placed on her card within the same amount of time. We saw the this Bubba Gump was open at 9:00AM… thought that this was strange given that we didn’t know that Bubba Gump served breakfast. We were seated quickly and the service was good. The breakfast menu is limited and the food is decent — there isn’t anything unique on the breakfast menu, but it is solid airport food. Two adults, two kids and orange juices for everyone = $ 50(USD)…pretty consistent with other airport dining experiences. We would return if we had a couple of hours to kill in the airport and wanted a decent breakfast.

I will be honest I didn’t really want to go here when my husband said let’s go there. We were in the airport and our flight had been delayed due to weather, so we had to eat. I said OK fine and we went. I actually did’t order any food just a diet coke, but Steve H order the shrimp platter. It was on the expensive side I thought, but then it came and it was huge! So for the amount of food you get it wasn’t too bad and it was enough food for 2 people. So I did eat after all. The shrimp platter had coconut shrimp, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp and the fried balls with shrimp stuffed in them. It also came with fries on the side. It was all surprisingly very good. My favorite was the coconut shrimp and the sauce the sweet sauce that came with it on the side. The fries were great too! Steve H also ordered a margarita shaker and when they brought it to him all the waiters and waitresses came over and sang this funny song about shaking the margarita … it was cute. The atmosphere here is very Forest Gump … They had the movie on repeat which was entertaining. The sign on the table was like the old Pancho’s flag and if you wanted service you would flip it. It seemed to be working out for them. Overall if you are in the airport and unexpectedly there longer than you planned and need to eat this is definitely an A-OK place to hand out and eat.

Good shrimp and fantastic for airport food. Right by some of the gates so you can eat and wait until the last minute to board. Took a little longer than expected to get the good.
