Great food! Fresh juice is awesome! We ordered fish taco, fish burger, fajita, and burrito and we totally love it! Burger is huge, and all the sauces are very authentic and spicy enough. Definitely a place to drop by for some authentic Mexican food!

My wonderful wife and I ate dinner @ this local dive and boy did it live up to its reputation. Phenomenal eats, spectacular drinks, and the most awesome hospitality in Cancun. We enjoyed the best shrimp tacos and chicken burritos the Caribbean had to offer. Modest pricing made for a thumbs up experience at this Cancun eatery.

This restaurant was excellent. I would highly recommend it to others. Their guacamole was so fresh and delicious. I had the fish tacos as my meal and the fish was very tasty! They also played nice music. The ambience was cool. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.

Really enjoyed this place. Small hut on the side of the road. Close by Cancun plaza. Very reasonable prices, great atmosphere and delicious food. My boyfriend and I came here twice– once for lunch and once for dinner. For lunch we had the fish tacos and shrimp tacos(both delicious) and for dinner we had the salmon and the pasta with shrimp. The salmon was tasty and I loved their pasta!

My boyfriend and I were staying at a hotel nearby so we decided to eat at Joe’s. We got there right before sunset, so we got to watch the sun set over the lagoon and it was beautiful. Food is decently priced, especially for hotel zone. We got shrimp tacos and the fish pasta, which were very filling. Make sure you add all the sides they provided with the tacos for flavour. The fish and pasta could have perhaps used some more salt, but otherwise was yummy.

Was hoping to be wonderfully surprised because of all the wonderful reviews on this place, but we were very underwhelmed! The food was really not that good compared to some of the food elsewhere on the island. They wouldn’t take credit card and had a terrible exchange rate for dollars/pesos. We had the fish tacos, which were just fried fish with salsa, no cabbage slaw, the fish was a lot of fried batter — and the chicken fajitas(came with no tortillas, just rice and beans) which were also a little burnt and definitely underwhelming. Perhaps we ordered the wrong food, but compared to the other restaurants further north for the same price, this food was definitely not great! However, have to comment that the outdoor seating is beautiful to watch the sunset, although would definitely bring your bug spray if you get bitten easily as it is right next to a highly wooded area with lots of bugs!(we got multiple bites)

Wow! Yes, «wow» is the best way to start a review for Joes’ 19.5 Km Restaurant. My friend and I ate here every day of our trip and sometimes more than once a day. I’ve been to Cancun several times and always try new food but this place is just too good to only eat once. Considering I ate here every day, I tried to keep some of my «adventurous» side by trying new dishes every time. Every dish surpassed my expectations. It seemed to me this restaurant would be hyper-focused on a specific type of food but I was blown away. All types of food served were delicious. From tacos to burgers, ceviche to Italian(pasta), local beer to wine, and of course — some tequila! I can’t decide on my favorite dish but my friend ate the shrimp burger most of the time. Finally, I have to thank the owner for the pleasant conversations and attentive service. I’ll be back in Cancun within a year for another dose of 19.5 Km Restaurant by Joe! Thank you!

Great food reasonable price. The restaurant is close to the sea, with soft wind and beautiful view. Most incredible is their services. Servers and chiefs are so friendly and helpful. If you stay in hotel zone, you should not miss here

Everything about our trip to Cancun sucked… except Joe’s. As context, we were robbed by the cops, had a four hour wait for a car rental and the food at our hotel was wickedly expensive(and gross). So on our last day, we were fed up and wanted something inexpensive and local. Joe’s did the trick. We had the ceviche and fish tacos. Both were cheap and delicious. The service was great, too. We got to chatting with the server and he was awesome. Definitely go to Joe’s if you’re in the hotel zone.

Cheapest place in the hotel zone, and with the best shrimp tacos that I’ve ever had. My husband had the breakfast one morning(traditional Mexican fare), and he ended up regretting not getting a platter worth of shrimp tacos instead(I was chowing down and reluctant to share). They’re so good that I ate them for breakfast. Cancun’s hotel zone is highway robbery when it comes to meal prices. When you go to Mexico, you expect to find $ 3 meals. Those don’t exist on this strip of beach. Joe’s is as close as it comes to good prices in this area of town, and the food and service is excellent. We came back three times during our trip, and we would have come back more if I hadn’t dragged my husband away to Isla Holbox. View of the lagoon + Pina Coladas + shrimp tacos + friendly conversation from other chill travelers looking for a hole-in-the-wall = an awesome experience.

We came here first night in Cancun. We sat for almost 20 minutes to realize no waitress was going to come to our table. Finally we got up and ordered from the window. Found out waitress was not at work that night. Would have been nice if someone told us. One guy working behind counter taking orders and one guy cooking. Need I say more. The steak fajitas were good, but cold. Very casual picnic tables on lagoon. I would have given it another try, but opted to try different places.

Ok, so on the scale, this is a local eat-in awesome place. Great setting, indoor and out. Patio. All is very well kept. Order the fish tacos. They are awesome, and 100 pesos for 3. Get a beer and sit and watch the sunset. I haven’t found much to dislike about this place. Fast, easy and delicious on 19.5. It’s well worth it. The servers are friendly as is the owner and his wife who take immaculate care of the place.

Was first night in Cancun and close to where we stayed. I had fish burger which was good. Friend had burger which he thought was a bit bland(but I wonder if that’s because it was not as heavily salted as we often used to). Buns nicely toasted. Came w lettuce and tomato on it was fresh. Also came w a small side of roasted potatoes which also good(not greasy like deep fried often is). Gave us whole bottles of ketchup mayo and mustard(which I appreciate as I enjoy such simple condiments). Friend had pineapple water which was fine. It was night so couldn’t see views people rave about but is in open area which is nice as I like eating outside. Area is small but we were there late so no problem w seating. Staff very friendly. Waiter from London spoke English which helped. She was very friendly and nice to us and happy to answer any questions. Has a very small«bar» area I can’t really describe. A couple people were in that area having beers. They have a book people write in and there were many fans. They say they also do tours… But waitress said that is not being promoted now and suggested the guy selling tours… Next door. They actually do take credit cards but added 3% which they were up front on and I thought reasonable and good as I get better exchange rate that way. Overall would return.

We stayed in hotel zone and have been here 3 times, it looks like a cheap place when we first saw it, and we have to find something to eat so we choose here. But after one experience I totally changed my mind. The salmon is awesome, and the flat beef steak! The quality can match any of the good steak house but the price is not expensive. Plus the Cancun lagoon view, I will defiantly recommend it to any one that in Cancun.

All the reviews on 19.5 are correct. Limited menu but best restaurant in Cancun. This is only the 2nd review I have ever given but it has to be done because people need to know about it. Cheeseburger: best I have ever had. Shrimp burger: awesome. Ceviche: huge portion and top of the line. Cost: cheaper than anything in Cancun. We are here for 10 days. We’ve already been twice and plan to go back to try the burrito and fajitas… Plus breakfast too. Definitely no frills but it’s worth the visit folks!

Terrible. Dirty. Bland. Expensive. The fruit«water» was pretty good. We were there for 20 mins, 5 people walked in and walked right out. Wish we had done so too. They don’t know what avocados are.

I give it a high score bc of the convenience factor alone. 19.5 was located directly across the street from our condominium. We went there multiple times over the course of our week long stay. Not only was 19.5 a quick meal but it was flavorful and fresh. I’d highly recommend the shrimp burger with a side of the habanero sauce. The service was a little slow but that’s what you can expect when only one person is working up front and manning the kitchen.

Really delicious shrimp tacos. The shrimp burger is made with the same shrimp tacos and equally as delicious with the garlic bun. But make sure to bring pesos(no longer accept credit cards). They kind of jipped us when we paid in USD

Ordered the angus burger and shrimp burger. Burgers come with tasty seasoned potatoes. Shrimp burger was soggy, pass on this. Angus burger was solid and can feed two people. Service a little slow and inattentive but prices were reasonable. Seating is outdoors and overlooks the lagoon. Mosquitoes abound so beware. Also, parking is atrocious!

This place was the perfect place to end a relaxing day on the beach. We hand walked half the length of the hotel zone looking for just the right spot to eat dinner. We walked up to the takeout window for this place, and were greeted nicely by friendly staff and invited inside to take a look at the menu. The menu looked like just what we were hungry for, but the atmosphere was even better! We chose a table on the water, overlooking the lagoon and were soon treated to a beautiful sunset. The food was very bit as good as we hoped and the portions were too large to finish! The food was fresh and authentic local cuisine. The food was presented beautifully with many options for garnish. One of us had the chicken burrito and the other shrimp tacos. Tomorrow we’ll go back to try to more things on the menu :)

Ate here with the family a few days ago while on vacation. The food is really good, fresh and in big portions. The daiquiris are made fresh with fresh fruit and lots of alcohol. Reasonably priced. We loved that it was located across the street from our hotel. The only con was the waitress. She had no customer service skills, professionalism or communication skills. We were the only customers at that time and she had a very nasty attitude and seemed as if she was doing us a favor by helping us.

We came here due to the reviews from Unilocal. The food and service was okay. Overpriced meals, humid, no a/c and fans were not working, not to mention lots of bugs biting you. We will not come back in our next trip.

Our hotel was directly across the street from this place so we ate here about 3 times during our one week Vacation! The food was delicious! We had Micheladas and Ceviche to start and it was so refreshing! For our entrees we ordered the Fish tacos & Shrimp tacos. The portions were enough to share! We tried the Hamburger & Shrimp Burger another day and we all agreed how delicious and tasty it was! I definitely recommend this place. The views are gorgeous! You really feel like you are on vacation when you eat here!

Breakfast items run 50 to 95 pesos. My scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy. Only negative, is the coffee is the instant variety. Ask for the green habanero sauce, if you want some heat. The Ceviche was very good and big enough for two. It would be enough for four as an appetizer. The sweet spot for this place is late afternoon/sunset. The sun sets in the west, across the lagoon. You can enjoy a drink and something to eat. Pretty nice spot. It’s not bargain pricing, but casual and a good value for this stretch of the Zona Hotelera Just south of the OXXO convenience store, on the lagoon side. Look for the orange shipping container.

Our Air B n B host recommended this place to us. While it was a bit more pricey than we were expecting, the food was top notch. The view of the lagoon was breathtaking, and after we sat down, the owner was quick to offer us beers. With a cold can of Modelo(for me) and Pacifico(for him), we watched the lagoon ripple and the sun set. We ordered ceviche and shrimp tacos and fish tacos. Everything was freshly made– you could just tell. It was insanely good. I can’t express how fresh the shrimp was, the crunch of the fried outer layer, the homemade soft tacos, etc. You need to go for yourself. After 4 beers and our ceviche/shrimp and fish tacos, our bill was 575 pesos. That’s about the price for a cheap place in the USA, but the quality here was fantastic. Couldn’t ask for better service or better food, or a better view.

Great little place, we’ve been here all week and read of all these other restaurants in Cancun, overpriced and food was so so. This place was the best meal we’ve had all week, the ceviche, fish, chicken and beef burrito was excellent. This place has been open for two years and was not even on the Unilocal radar. If you’re visiting Cancun this is a must! It’s across from the Bel Air hotel and next to an XOXO convenient store.
