Unilocal reviews by David Lujan — Not interested in reading my full review — head straight to the bottom to see the ratings I gave this establishment: Who: My wife and I and another couple we met here in PV at the Hyatt Ziva What: On vacation in Mexico trying new spots for fun When:Dinner time Environment: Genius — this spot is literally one that is worth traveling here for. I have had two separate people tell me about this restaurant around the world and figured I had to try it while we were here and let everyone know what I thought. How’d they do: The staff was amazing! From the time we arrived and were greeted at the street and escorted down to our table on the cliff, through the 4 Star service all the way to the staff escorting us in the pouring rain to our taxi covering us with umbrellas. They were world class. Recommendations: My wife had the medallions and I had the salmon with caviar. Both were excellent and so well prepared. The drink menu was a large mixture of excellent exotic martinis that were mixed to perfection. Pros: There can’t be more than a handful of places like this to eat on the planet. If your ever in PV you can’t not visit this spot! Cons: The weather here can get intense quick. Both people who told me about this spot had the same experience we did. Wildest rain storm I’ve ever been in. Then you have to drive down the mountain in the pouring rain to get back to your hotel. That was nerve racking to say the least. My tip: This should be on everyone’s global travels bucket list! If your ever in PV take the one you love to experience this once in a lifetime experience. You’ll thank me for it later. If you go because of this review, or if it was helpful to you please reply to my review and let me know! First the Food is good, but over price for the the quality. Second the service is really bad. Last but not lease do not! Do not! Pay with your credit card. After using my card on this restaurant I had two separate charges from this place on my bank account adding up to almost $ 2627 pesos when my original bill was $ 1200 pesos, my problem is that I did not notice on till we got back from our vacation. Since the transaction was already charged my bank can’t do anything. I long distance called on two separate occasion to the restaurant just to be told that the owner is the only one can fix this problem and that he is out of town on a personal manner.

This place was amazing. We were treated like royalty. The view is incredible and so was the food. We enjoyed all the martinis we tried. The beet salad was great. Coconut shrimp was delicious. New York strip was great. Red snapper was succulent. And the beef medallions were so tender and scrumptious. They even did a special dessert for our friends 25 anniversary. Thank you Karlos, Eber, sorry one more but I forgot the name!

Went for our honeymoon, enjoyed the fabulous views, good service, and excellent food presentation. About an hour after returning back to our resort, my husband and I started to get violently ill. We believe it was the lobster and could not even raise our heads we were so sick from the 12 hour night of vomiting and bowel movements. My husband got so weak and bad we had to go to a medical center to get him intravenous fluids. Needless to say it was a great dinner gone wrong because of some bad food. They kept pushing the lobster«special» on us even though it was on the menu, but our guess it was on «special» because it was about to go bad? Either way I know this is something that could happen anywhere but it really put a damper on our night, and the next day!

Very far from Puerto Vallarta, not really worth the drive. The view was amazing, the setting was amazing. The service was just awful, they are experiencing management and wait staff problems and the waiter had major attitude and they even gave us a busboy on his first week of being a busboy. The food was nothing to be excited, the portions very small and very overpriced. They try and upsell you on their signature martini’s when you get there also. There are MUCH better options to eat right in PV without a huge taxi ride both ways. Sorry, but we will not be back.

What an AMAZING restaurant. My friends wont ever go to eat with me because of my food snobbery, and this place was on point. They serve a menu of artisan martinis featuring fresh local ingredients like basil grown from their on site garden, mango, and chili peppers. The food menu featured a depth of flavors I have yet to find anywhere else, and the fresh seafood was incredible. Even the picky eaters in my group fell off of their chairs when they tried their first bite. The atmosphere under a grass roof on the sea side cliffs make this place a definite must…

Le Kliff is an open air restaurant about 30 – 45 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta. The Beef Medallions were very tasty and flavorful and the Martini’s are AMAZING! The service was top notch. Our server was Efron who was very available to us and the host/manager was Ever. We went on Super Bowl sunday and the restaurant only had 3 other parties. So we ultimately had our pick of the place. I chose to propose at this restaurant sight unseen and boy was that one of the best decisions of my life. Ever and Efren went well above their call of duty to ensure that the proposal was nothing short of Perfect and magical. The Mrs. to be and I have already considered our next trip.

The restaurant is 45 long minutes from Puerto Vallarta. The views are wonderful, especially during sunset. The food was okay at best, although one meal did have to be sent back to the kitchen to try again. The service was slow, basically terrible. Not worth returning to this restaurant. Much better options available in PV

This was by far(and it is a little far, about 45 min from our hotel) the best restaurant we experienced in Puerto Vallarta! So happy we came here to celebrate my 30th birthday back in November. The view is breathtaking, you can’t beat it! Our server was Ramon and he was great! The food was amazing and drinks were too! We both had a few appetizers, wine, and split their special of the night which was 2lb whole lobsters! Please go here and spend a little extra — it’s totally worth it!

The stars are for the view but the food isn’t all that great. I would go for a glass of wine and maybe an appetizer. It isn’t expensive but it was like eating at a small portioned claim jumper. If you can catch my drift

Best service in all of PV! Our waiter Efren was very accomadating & helpful. the view is amazing, the food & drinks are great. I reccomend coming before it gets too dark so you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Ocean. Le Kliff is one of my favorite spots in PV& hope to visit again.

One of the world’s great beauty spots! We could’ve dreamed away whole days there. Food to match: cream of crab soup with flying-fish caviar! omg! Excellent service too, — gracias, Efren! We got there at 3 pm on a weekday, had it to ourselves, but by 5 it started to fill up. Depending on when you go, reservations are probably a good idea. Can’t wait to go back!

This place was amazing! Phenomenal food, great atmosphere, and friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommend to anyone in the area. A little off the beaten path from the resort-y areas but worth the journey! Not to mention they grow all of their organic herbs on site and their menu also caters to those who are gluten free! Must go!

Wow! Really. I just read the review from the guy from San Fran and it ticks me off. We visited this restaurant a few years and back and in 39 years of marriage we have eaten at many places and Le Kliff was our TOP romantic/view restaurant experiences ever. The view, the food, the service — it was all AMAZING. This is one of the most romantic places and spectacular views in the whole world. Don’t believe the San Fran guy! This is a must visit when in Puerto Vallarta and it is worth every penny! We go back to PV this August and my wife and I cannot wait until we visit Le Kliff again. Quite simply — it is AWESOME!

On a rainy night last week my husband took me here to celebrate our anniversary. I think due to the weather, we ended up being the only diners in the restaurant. Which turned out to be an amazing experience. The scenery is beautiful, even with the rain. We started by ordering cocktails and the basil/Rosemary martini came recommended by our waiter. It was fantastic. When we ordered our next round they invited us up to the bar to show us how it was made. The food was wonderful. I had the lobster and it was a perfect size portion. The service was great. Maybe because we were the only ones there, but, the waiter and 3 other servers were always available to us without feeling hovered upon or rushed. At the end they surprised us with an Anniversary dessert. I recommend this place to anyone looking for something special and away from downtown PV. It was a $ 23 cab ride from Secrets and they called is a taxi for the way back.

Tucked away on the cliffs over looking PV. After a 20 minute terrifying cab ride up the hill we where never more happy to get out of a car in our lives. Caution cab drivers in PV drive crazy. As we walked in the view took our breaths away. After getting our table we explored the views and took pictures. After all the pics we sat back down and had a fantastic dinner. The food was great and they make great Martini’s. Can’t go wrong at this place I would recommend to all.

I can save you guys the trouble of reading my rant. Basically, the experience breaks down like this: The views — 5⁄5 The service — 2⁄5 The food — 1⁄5 The location and the setup of this restaurant are absolutely stunning. It’s definitely worth your time to stop by to check out the views. Unfortunately, this is where the nice things about this place stop. When we came here, we were greeted by white linens(red flag) and godawful music. They were literally playing the smooth jazz version of «Baby Don’t Hurt Me» and it just gotten worse from there. It would have been better if they just turned the music off and let us all listen to the sounds of the waves breaking at the rocks below. The service was sporadic, uncomfortable, and missing where it mattered the most. «Which hotel are you staying at?» Why would you think we’re staying at a hotel? Don’t you have any regulars or people just stopping by? Another red flag. The table next to us had a pepsi served to them in a can. Overall throughout the dinner there were 5 separate staff members who got our drinks, food, brought food over, cleaned the plates, and brought the check. There was not a single person we felt we could talk to about the quality of our food. Which leads me to the main reason I’m writing this review and is the same reason I’m still pissed off the next day. The food was garbage. Both mine and my mom’s dishes(«poblano crusted pork» and«red snapper») were pre-cooked and frozen, and then reheated for us. My pork chop was tough as nails, and was sitting in some watery liquid(which is exactly what happens when you reheat a precooked frozen meal). The risotto was bland, watery, and disgusting. I just pushed the whole dish away; I couldn’t eat it. Mom’s fish was definitely not grilled fresh. It was dry and looked like it was sitting somewhere for awhile. The thing is, I knew coming in that this is going to be an overpriced dinner, but to charge 250 – 300 pesos per dish, at this level of quality is completely unacceptable. What’s worse, none of the staff gave a shit. The manager quickly asked my dad if the food was ok(my dad is a very mild guy) and left before any of us could say anything. He deliberately did not look at anyone else at the table. I’m pretty sure they know their food is shit. After that, nobody stopped by to check on us until we finally asked for the check, and the person who cleaned up my full plate didn’t even pause to ask if I liked it. Bottom line — the stunning location is an absolute loss on this shitty«restaurant». Come in, have a bottle of beer, walk around, enjoy the views, but skip the food and service. I sincerely hope they go out of business.
