Conflicted about this place. It’s a nice outdoor café; the price for beer not bad, the price for cocktails ok. The mojito was literally the WORST I’ve ever had, so I swilled it down, right, wth! My son got fettuccine Alfredo, which he adored; my wife, the arrachera(marinated flank steak), which was tasty;, and I got the shrimp poblano which was delicious if not spicy enough. We all got ice cream from their onsite Lucy’s ice cream, of which my son loved his Sunday and my wife her coconut. The chocolate not so good. The problem was the next morning we all got a fierce can of Montezuma’s…all in bed and in the toilet for a whole day. Literally 20 hours in bed. The finger points to Lucy’s, but how can you confirm? We all enjoyed eating it, so there’s the 4 stars.

Very good food, drinks, and ice cream! Fun décor. It didn’t completely blow me away, but I was very glad I went. Worked well for a large group.

Really yummy food and loved the atmosphere. The ice cream was one of the best I have had and the coconut shrimp tacos were pretty great — had them twice. Not a fan of tourist traps but this restaurant really delivered.

Turtle Bay fan! The only place in the world where I eat sweet rolls! Their hand made ice-cream is fantastic, and the food and service is generally top notch!

Food was good. My husband loved his breakfast. Mine was ok, I guess I’m a bit funny when it comes to big carrots in my eggs… Still juice was delicious. Would go again.

One of the best that I’ve been to when I was in cancun. Great tacos and ice cream. Go during happy hour, that have the best and cheapest food!

Great service cool atmosphere and awesome menu. My only complaint would be that the food was a little bland we had the steak fajitas and the guacamole. Very fresh but needed a little more flavor. The ice cream rocked and the waffle cone totally worth the 9 pesos!

Two dinners and one breakfast. All fantastic. Creative menu as well as traditional fare. Great service casual atmosphere but still relatively intimate. Affordable. Loved it.

**GOODICECREAM, DISAPPOINTINGTACOS** 3.5 stars. After some snorkeling and sunbathing, we stopped here for lunch. AMBIANCE ========= Fun and colorful. Lots of photo opportunities. FOOD ===== NACHOS(with steak) Surprisingly good and tasty. Real cheese and the meat was tender. RATING: 4⁄5 TACOS Not very good. Bland and was not impressed by the quality of the tortillas. RATING: 2⁄5 DESSERT ======== ICECREAM Very good home made style and that fresh waffle cone though. RATING: 4⁄5 OVERALL ======== Would return to try their famous dish, chile relleno. And the ice cream. RECOMMEND in Akumal.

This is one of our favorite stops while in Akumal. They have the best wait staff, a superb breakfast and delicious smoothies. They make all their own breads, so so good! We were delighted to learn they serve dinner now! Dinner was excellent. A great variety of dishes, from BBQ pulled pork, to citrus marinated salmon, and ribeye steak. A wonderful meal, great staff, reasonable prices. Have been visiting for years, will always make a stop when in town. A family favorite.

There’s a reason this place is never empty. Turtle Bay has great food for breakfast and lunch, and colorful décor, but it’s star is really the bakery. The lime coffee cake is to die for! Also home of a great outpost for Lucy’s Homemade Ice Cream and Tacos… another must-have when in Akumal.

We really enjoyed our breakfast at this small café in the center of Akumal. It was very deserving of all the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. Actually, it was surprising their was no reviews on Unilocal yet. If you’re looking for good quality food and great service at an affordable price I’d definitely pick this place. Out of all the places we ate in the area this was by far the best. We wish we went there for lunch as well instead of the place two doors down. We would have had a good meal and gotten to enjoy a little more of the sunny day instead of waiting for one hour for our food and a half an hour for our check. Looking for a great meal, go here! You won’t be disappointed.
